I am posting this for my terribly embarrased and mortified husband. He was recently diagnosed with pruritus ani. He has ulcers around all of the inflamed area and experiences extreme pain and burning with bowel movements. He also has water filled blisters between the anus and scrotum that are now drying up. The doctor gave him a steroid cream and after one day of use, the area got so inflammed he could barely stand the pain so he is not using it now. We have read that it could be a yeast infection...as I have one and have had them off and on pretty regularly. So I'm being treated and we decided to go ahead and treat him as well. It is somewhat better but not as we had hoped. Does anyone know about this? Has anything worked or gave relief. I don't know how much more he can take, it's been a week since the extreme flare up. We do have anal sex...both ways. We do not or have not ever cheated on each other so that's not a possibility and we've been together 18 years. We really need some help if anyone has a suggestion. Thank you....
