I have had strep throat only a few times, but about 4 years ago i started to notice holes forming in my tonsils. I went to the doctor for an unrelated issue, and asked them as a "by the way, what is this?" and since i was in an er, they didn't take much time to answer, simply stating " oh that's common" well i don't care if it's common i want to know what and why. I tend to get food stuck in there, and then the next day i get small semi-soft white stinky pieces that seem to come from nowhere, but i know it's from those holes. Upon waking my throat is sore sometimes, but after i clear out all the c**p from it, it's fine ( hocking loogeys and such). I just want to know if this is just something i have to live with, or if there is something i can do about it.

If you get your tonsils removed, you won't be able to sing properly and your voice will change.
