Floaters aren't always harmless. There are varying degrees of floaters. Your age and the type of floaters you are having can be different from someone else. My ophthalmologist is always concerned if I have floaters, but I do have an eye disease. The best thing is to see an ophthalmologist and let him/her evaluate you and tell you that it is harmless.

Well, i've had this for a long time,.. but then again, i've had issues when i was a child. im 15 now, and quite frankly, my counciller said that its an anxiety dissorter that im seeing this try of "confetti spots" in my vision. try relaxing, de-stress yourself with whatever it takes. mental health is important. Hope it helps.

I too have floaters. I'm 27, female. It's coming from my left eye only and when I'm closely in a front of an illuminated object, like a laptop is when I see it most. When I look away to another object further away, the spot goes away. When I focus my eyes and look at THE SPOT, it disappears. The temporary cure I've found so far is a MIND OVER MATTER one. When I start to ignore it, I forget about it for the time being. Also the symptoms here did say lack of sleep could be causing it to appear, and I haven't been sleeping well lately, so, there's another reason why I see the floating spot.

Thanks for posting this, It feels good to know I'm not the only one with this.

I have the same problem, but they're not clear floaters like most people have. I have colorful spots in my vision that have been growing in numbers rapidly for the past two weeks. I have horrible headaches that I haven't had until the spots began, and I'm not prone to migraines. I went to my ophthalmologist and had two doctors look into my eyes and tell me absolutely nothing was wrong. I know its not due to aging because I'm only fifteen. I wouldn't be worried about it if they spots weren't growing every passing day, but they're becoming a major problem in my vision.

hi there ,

I too suffer from what they called black spots and they are so annoying. I dont want to alarm you but mine came out suddenly after an episode of anxiety and depression . They could be a sign of anxiety and stress . They can be related to a neurology problem too from the brain . I believe that I messed up my brain with thinking and worrying a lot and now I have to live with this forever throughout my life apart that im depressed!!!:-( and this really sucks man belive me!!

regards,

Gil

There is a doctor who specializes in working with eyefloaters. I know him personally and he does a great job. His website is:

I get black spots when it is time for me to have some protein. I have hypoglycemic reactions, so I wonder if some of you need a snack or a meal when this occurs? I also see different things once in a while on an Intuitive level, blue flashes or diamonds...or colours if I close my eyes, and when falling asleep. I have had this my whole life and do Intuitive readings for people. Hope everyone feels better soon :-D

I registered on this site to explain to you what this is because it is absolutely terrifying and it took me a while to figure out what it was. What you are experiencing is called sleep paralysis, I'm guessing you couldn't move while you were experiencing these shadows? I suffered from it for many years when I was younger. It works in many stages and usually starts with the 'shadow' just being in the room and progresses on to the 'shadow' sometimes becoming violent. In my case it sat on the end of my bed for the first few times and after a few years it sat on my chest and tried to strangle me.....which was without doubt one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. Pure terror. Which is also what this is called, night terrors. In all honesty I was partying hard in London at the time and taking a fair share of illegal substances, which wouldn't have helped, but this is a regular thing so don't freak out. I've not experienced it for at least 8 years now and I live in Australia, sun and surf seem to help! :O)
Now, I'm not a religious person in any way and this link is a bit religion focused towards the end but it might help explain a few things...

Good luck with mate, it'll pass.

hey ive had some of the same problems. im a pretty healthy person. everyday i see these white floaters moving around at all times of the day usually when im inside. I also see these black floaters but when I do its nothing like the white ones. the white one just float around slowly..the black ones litterlly look like thick horseflies, trying to attack me. my freshman year in college my friend and i were sitting in my room and all of a sudden this black dots just started sworming around heading towards me. my friend thought i was crazy that was the first time i've ever seen the black dots before.

Hi, been along time since people have posted on this.
I am 16 years old and am a chronic user of marijuana. I have never done anything dangerous like cough syrup but I am starting to get "floaters"
very often now. At least everyday i see them in my classes floating through my field of vision. They also move depending on where i center my eyes. If i move my eyes up, they go up. Same goes with every angle. Can someone tell me if this is serious or not? because i think it might be related to marijuana or possibly sleep deprivation.

hello everyone even i face the same problem with my right eye its very distracting i consulted a doctor and he told you cant do anything unless u can see multiple floaters which s very dangerous u need to go for an eye surgery but if only one floater s there then u dont hav to worry.....i see it usually when i see at sky or when i am out i can see it a alot bt when i am at home its not much i taught alot about these becoz i just cant leave it like this then started some research on it and i can tell u about a remedy but i wont give 100percent surity tht it will go..........u need to do eye excersize daily nd u need to eat alot of green leafy vegetables such as spinach ... Lutein (a green pigment found in leafy green vegetables such as kale, collard greens and spinach) and Taurine which helps to regenerate tissues in the retina.hope this will be useful to u........mail me @ ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **

Helleo am seeing called floaters i was glad that am not the only one . I had my cents i was 12 in summer in august when i was 12 i pianic and cryed i thought something was haunting me but like the side of my eyes too but nothing is happening to me so anything is not haunting me cause it scared me half to dreath when after watching a true story about haunting thats where i got the idea from something haunting ... Like thinking about the my eye sight scared me and ruined my day with the bad feeling by thinking about it and by this made me to be paranoid and be aware of my surrounding and i prayed everynight so i thank god for me being safe not just but everyone to be safe....but maybe i do spent lots of time on my old computer maybe cause of that...well anyways sometimes ill break down cry for a while am very sensitive and made me lack of sleep and my body well twich of thinking of my eye sight at night and day but mostly at night...sometimes ill get sick and ill over think it causing me to be worried and i end getting a cold....
