I know it is normal to bleed for several weeks after Green Light Laser Prostate Treatment, but I am now at the 3 week point and I still have reddish urine and sometimes I see blood clots. How much longer should I expect this tot continue?

Hello, Lou.
After undergoing Green Light Laser prostate treatment, it is common to experience some degree of bleeding or blood in the urine for a period of time. However, the duration and severity of bleeding can vary from person to person.
Typically, immediate post-operative bleeding after the procedure can last for a few days to a week, and then gradually decrease over time. It is not uncommon to have intermittent episodes of blood in the urine or the passage of blood clots during the recovery period. However, by the three-week mark, most individuals would expect to see a significant improvement in the amount and frequency of bleeding.
If you are still experiencing persistent reddish urine and the passage of blood clots at the three-week point, it is recommended to contact your urologist. They will be able to evaluate your specific situation, assess the severity of the bleeding, and determine whether further evaluation or intervention is necessary.
