I got these symptoms only a week before... which really sucks.... my doctor prescribed me antibiotics and I was fine and dandy until I started having sex with my boyfriend again. It burns when I pee, and there is this brownish discharge too... I also bled yesterday after sex, but I'm not on my period. I spent an hour on this site and other sites today researching what I might have... and I found a topic that described similar symptoms. That girl ended up having herpes (I don't have sores or cuts yet thank god but my vagina still is extremely uncomfortable); I am really crossing my fingers that I don't have herpes. My boyfriend claims he is clean, and he is the only person I've ever had sex with. However, we broke up for 4 months before getting back together again, and in that time, he had sex with 3 other people <--- he's in college, which means lots ***edited by moderator*** ** inappropriate posting** girls ugh (he said he wore a condom though). Still, I'm really afraid I might have gotten some STD like herpes, gonnorhea, or chylamidia...
Do I just have an infection or could my symptoms be telling me that I might have an STD???

p.s. I have a gyno, but I'm 17 and in California, I think you need to be 18 to get blood tests by yourself. I really want to get checked for STDs without having to tell my parents though, I don't want them to find out I've been having sex with my boyfriend.

I would first ask your boyfriend to get checked for std's, I would say 3 different girls in four months is alot. Second if you can't get tests done on your own I would say talk to your parents if its an std then it needs to be taken care of right away. I would guess that it is bacterial vagintis which is cause by many different things and yes sex does cause it, and it can get passed back and forth so if you have you can give it to your boyfriend who can give it back to you kinda deal both of you need to be checked. When I first had sex, I had symptoms like this too! The bleeding may be because of the rough sex or ur hymen breaking. When this happens it made my pee burn for weeks after, i think its just becuase its sensetive down there just after your first time.
However becuase your boyfriend has been with other women, get yourself checked out just incase!!

You can get tested for STD's without your parents knowing at Planned Parenthood. And I would really recommend it too hun. Not saying that you do have an STD, but it's always good to get checked out as soon as possible if you are concerned. Make sure your boyfriend gets checked too, because that will give you the ultimate answer. And if you're not on birth control, you can get some there as well. Please, Please, Please stop while your ahead. You know that after medication you were well then when you had sex again you were suffering. A brown discharge is never a good sign. Sounds like symptoms of an STD or severe vaginal infection. Either way this is most likely sexually transmitted. My strong suggestion to you is to visit planned parent hood if you dont want your paretns to know. Request to screened for all STD's including HIV. Because he is clearly being dishonest you should make the call if you choose to trust him again after your test results but if you do i would say it should always be protected sex. You have many years ahead of you to enjoy sex. I also lost my virginity around your age and was dealing with a liar myself. Dont ruin yourself now with something that may not ever go away depending on what you may or may not have contracted. If you eventually want to be married and have children you can seriously be putting yourself at risk. Dont want to scare you I have been in your boat just asking that you take this topic very very seriously. I wish when i was your age i had more info about this. Take it from me you have many year to experience sex with someone you can trust who loves you and will be honest with you. Dont ruin that. If your doctor prescribed antibiotics you were diagnosed wt some type of bacterial infection either std or bladder infection because herpes is incurable no medicine will make it go away and if it was an std your bf has to get antibiotics too to stop passing the infection back and forth to each other your doctor should have told you that ask questions to your doctor it's better to be educated that's what they're there for
