Hi, I was diagnosed with infertility due to blockage in tubes. The doctor said that after some more examinations he will propose me a surgical method for treating this blockage. He claims that these procedures are effective. I wonder what are treating options?

Fallopian tube blockage causes infertility by preventing the egg of passing to the sperm, or the fertilized egg to the uterus. It can be unblocked surgically, for what different methods are used depending on location and extent of blockage. Some microsurgical techniques are applied, like laparoscopy through a small incision. Tubal reanastomosis is a method where the blocked part of the tube is removed, and the two healthy ends of the tube are then joined. Salpingectomy is removal of part of a fallopian tube and is done in vitro fertilization (IVF). Fimbrioplasty is performed when the part of the tube closest to the ovary is partially blocked. There is also a nonsurgical procedure, selective tubal cannulation for a tubal blockage next to the uterus.
