Hi, my sister was diagnosed to have ectopic pregnancy. What is this condition like? Will she manage to have a baby? If a person has once ectopic pregnancy, what are her chances of having another pregnancy out of ordiary place?

Ectopic pregnancy means that a fertilized egg has not implanted in the uterus, as it should be, instead it settles in the fallopian tubes more than 95% of the time. Another name for ectopic pregnancies is "tubal pregnancies." Other places where the egg could settle include ovary, abdomen, or the cervix. None of these organs don’t have nurturing tissue to support a fetus, so such pregnancies never develop into a live birth. IN cases of fallopian tube blockage, caused by some inflammation or infection, fertilized egg can not move down the fallopian tube to the uterus. Pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis and scar tissues from previous surgeries of fallopian tube, are most common reasons for fallopian tube blockage.
