You are doing incredibly well for 6 weeks on & this is probably making it too easy to over do it. There's no benefit in rushing it - the pain might be because the condition alters how we walk so I'd suggest booking some good physio to regain correct foot muscle posture and flexibility. Sounds like you will get a great benefit from this. Just give it a bit more patience for a couple more weeks.

I am 77 yrs old, went in to see abt my toe nail pain and foot dr xrauy confirmed ia spur on bone of big toe forcing toenail out.
He deaden toe with shots, removed toenail and cut out spur and i went home bandaged wearing special boot. Prescribed antibotic and pain medication, no psin except swelling.

WOW! I'm not alone! I had my big toe spur surgery 7 weeks ago. The swelling has stayed down somewhat, however the PAIN is just awful! I'm still on pain meds. I tried shots and pills for two years before surgery. If I had know how bad and how long the pain would last I would have never had the surgery.

Glad it has gone better for you than many others. Count your blessings because it is not a matter of being a baby for others.For those in severe constant pain, complaining might be realistic.
