For those of you Who dont have a gluten or lactose intolerance. Try and figure out if you have eaten something different.  Ive had too, urgency, diarreah, extreme pain, sweating, removal of clothing the whole thing! Happens everytime I eat ice cream, and its not just dairy or lactose cause occasionally I have cheese or milk and it doesnt happen.  But I think there must be something in ice cream that sets me off.  I was at work when it happened an on the toilet for almost 45 minutes.  I felt ok afterward

To all the people here who are going or went through this ordeal I feel your pain and I thank you for letting me know I am not alone. When I was pregnant (7 months) I had my first episode. In the middle of the night I went to take a bowel movement ( never been a real goer) and my heartbeat was extremely hard. I could hear it loud. I became extremely weak and fell to the floor. I was vomiting and having a bowel movement on the floor and couldn't get up. I was extremely hot  and sweating. I was taken to the E.R. and they did some blood work, gave me an ultrasound, gave me some morphine and sent me home. No answers and it hasn't stopped yet. It went from every 3 months to every month. Now it's like every 3 weeks. I'm at the point where I'm scared to leave my house or drive with my son in the car. It only happens in the middle of the night but I can't take a chance at hurting him. I did some research and I'm going to try the gluten free diet. I don't eat dairy so...I don't know. I just hope we can be cured of this before something happens at the wrong place or time (like in a public bathroom).

when you don't eat it starves your body of essential vitamins that help brain functions. you need electrolytes to stop the migraines. Try Gatorade if that happens.

I've had this for years now too and had an embarrassing episode at a friend' house recently where I was convinced I needed to go to the hospital because it was so painful. I wake up in the middle of the night, sweating profusely with extremely bad cramps. It's some of the worst pain I've ever felt and I'm so hot I lay on the cold floor for relief. The only that seems to fully relieve it is a bowel movement but these are excruciating and often come as extreme diarrhea. I don't get the feeling I'm going to pass out but I often can't move off of the floor. So sorry people get this. I'm going to look up the vagus nerve now.

I am glad to find this and know that I am not crazy! I am 56 and deal with constipation issues. When it's been over three days I take a mold laxative . I got up in the middle I'd the night with this horrible  pain in the top part of my intestines. I barely was able to walk to the bathroom. I was weak and starred sweating profusely , it felt like it was raining on me. I dared not get up because I felt like I was going to pass out! this morning I feel weak. I am just wondering about the toxins in my body, not having a bm for days and if it is related

I have been having a similar issue, mine starts out with constipation for days, then I go to the bathroom and it's like I'm having diarrhea but its not runny like diarrhea then I start sweating shaking and can feel my pulse beating in my head has anyone figured out what is causing all these symptoms cause doctors sure don't seem to know what's going on. Good luck to anyone dealing with this I know first hand how scary and awful this is.

I get this too. I just had it now. I know I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I do think it might be something to do with dehydration. I fear bowel cancer but seems it might not be after reading the posts. I have low blood pressure and an under active thyroid. Trying to rest now, sleep can help get my energy back after a bad bm. Have a head cold today so prob need a sweet cup of tea to help me. It's debilitating. Feel like I have a fever and period cramps atm also have a scratchy throat. I heard u can be drinking lots of water and still be dehydrated so I'm wondering should I be taking an electrolyte too. Deep breathing gets me through the night time episodes I lie in bed and relax between movements and wonder is it because I'm too tense and need my bowels to relax a little. I think the hard stool is like a blockage that the body has to expel then the flood gates open up but the bowels are too tired maybe. I heard regular yoga twisting can help. And I also wonder if sugar has any part to play. Just a thought besides all the things I've read. But above all make sure and drink a pint of water with all meals especially the dryer foods that will absorb water easily and if hot or exercising drink more. Hope my ideas help someone find an answer.

I have had exact same thing happen the first day of my period for the last 8 months. I wake up with sudden sharp pain, sweat, cold, shaking, pin and needles, panic, and pass out. I'm weak for the whole day after the episode and feel like it could happen again. I found out I had fibroids and a thick uterine lining. The way to stop this is hysterectomy! I'm going the non invasive route right now with hormone therapy but it's intense!! I do feel as I could die..it's so extreme too me.

Crazy to see how many people feel what i feel. I always feel like I'm dying when waking up to these cramping pains from hell in the middle of the night. Same as everyone else...I get faint feeling and bloated. I feel like there is pressure in my rectum but have no muscle power to push it out or I will plot face down on the bathroom floor. Heart starts racing and breathing rate increases to the point where i feel death is coming. Yes, I've learned to poop on the floor because sitting upright on the toilet is the worse for your blood circulation. I notice a hard gigantic stool comes out then comes diarrhea then blood :( I went to the ER and was told it's called colitis...but why? I eat the same thing practically everyday. I don't get it. Maybe there is blockage from internal hemmoroids that I didn't even know where there until my colonoscopy. Next time...i think taking an antispasmodic prescription will help with the pains and cramps. I plan to keep them in my bathroom for when the attack comes along. Does anyone have answer or solution???

I frequently feel like I am going to pass out after a bowel movement, my head spins, and I feel nauseated. Lower left quadrant pain, feels like my colon is trying to come out! A lot of pain, a lot of bowel movements, some loose, some hard. I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis, but I'm thinking it may be something else too....

Hi, I.am going through the same thing. This is the second time it has happened to me. It just started earlier this week. I go running to the bathroom and have very sharp pains, like the worse cramps you can have. The pain is gone when i stop going to the bathroom, my stool is loose. I think I am done but then the pain comes back 5-10mins later and this lasts about 30-40 mins. It's scary for me to think about it because it reminds me of my sister who was going through the same thing and she found out she had polyps in her colon. I am just hoping I don't have that. I will be able to go to the doctor when my insurance kicks in. I will let everyone here know.
