I've had it to and it hurts when I drink something cold even if it's the smallest drink idk why but it freaks me out so I have to drink warm pop and stuff

I do understand you're not by yourself I get back chest and brain freeze when I drink Slurpees or slushious

You're not alone. I get really bad back freezes. Sometimes they're so bad I have to sit down and deal with the pain. I thought i was crazy and just imagining the pain, but seeing that a lot of you also have the same problem I know Im not crazy. Thanks for listening.

get a mri of the neck and spine, and look for any issues . inflammation around the spine and neck, this will make nerves sensitive.

I always feel pain in my back after eating something cold, I call it brain freeze in my back lol. My family and friends think I'm crazy, glad to know I'm not alone. I don't know what to do, it's pretty unusual.

Well unlike most of the posts, I always thought it was quite normal to get back freeze. It only makes sense because the fluid goes down your esophagus which is in close connection to your back. I've accepted the fact that most people get brain freeze but never understood unless they are standing on their heads when they drink. My husband gets the brain freeze and thinks I'm nuts because I get the back freeze. I just tell him I'm normal and he's the strange one. So today after having a cold drink we decided to settle it and look it up on Google and I was not surprised to see how many people have the back freeze. The best comment I liked and laughed at was the freeze goes to the weakest part of the body. All makes sense to me. :-) For those that are concerned for health reasons, I don't think you need to worry no matter whether brain or back, it is quite normal.

I also get back freeze, at least that's what I call it. It's similar to the brain freeze except it's in my back! I don't think it's anything life changing because I have taken stress test and everything was good. It's just painful when it happens.

Me too. Its like the cold goes straight to my back. But its not that big of a deal. I just try to warm the drink in my moth for a few seconds.

"Get a slush from Sonic".That so funny, that's exactly what I did last night that finally drove me to Google this after 44years of having this weird problem.l personally have never met anyone with this symptom.

A back freeze is very rare among the population. I have talked to doctors and they claim that is biologically impossible to get a back freeze instead of a brain freeze. I think we are either very special or aliens. My pain feels like a knife in the center of my back between my shoulder blades. I've never had a brain freeze.
