It's been 24 hours and it hurts like hell when I swallow. After I swallow and count to three I can feel the point at which that Bravo was inserted because it hurts so badly I want to jump out of my skin. I was told that patients either don't feel it or bairely feel it. What a load of c**p! How can I eat like normal so that it can monitor my ph if I have to fear this pain. Oh and I keep it in my pocket or on my desk at work and this shitty 1980s-looking brick of a receiver often goes off with its piercing shreak that lets me and my office mates know in a very humiliating fashion it has been disconnected from receiving. I'm not even beyond the three feet point they said it needs to receive. In short, it hurts and is unworkable in an office environment because of its loud interruptions (I threw it in my car during a meeting because I couldn't stand it's interruptions). Way to go User Experience team that worked on this piece of medical techno c**p!

Their not kidding. Had it done Monday and it gets worse everyday. If I didn't have pain pill from a previous surgery I would be so screwed I feel like a swallowed a quarter and it's just sitting there and God when I drink or eat anything. ( by the way I had this procedure because I haven't eaten solid food for five months. I have a spastic esophagus which causes me to choke , food literally gets stil and take days to go down. So I stopped eating. Only warm ice cream juice and coffee) so having this surgery was not an option. If I didn't have it they would give me the meds I need after I get results. My question is if it doesn't fall off and go down. What do o need to do. I didn't have this because of acid reflux. I had this because their trying to see why food gets stuck. Stuck right where this thing is probably going to get stuck. If it does I might have to have it removed. My esophagus is not working line everybody else is. It's not heart burn or another stomach issue. Food does not go to my stomach. Gets stuck and I choke and don't breathe. So I'm scared this will also get stuck. Please don't get this precedire. Not worth it to just check ph level. I was blackmailed into this. I need the blood pressure pills that will relax my esophagus and allow food to go down. So immwide awake have my heart attack Thank u Drs for all the help. And tricking me and lying to me and telling enters will be zero pain. I wish these Drs could just go through one of these precedire. How about the barium swallow. And the the test where the nurse stick a 20 foot stick up my nose and down. To my stomach and have me eat applesauce for 30 minutes. While I drool and gag and vomit and still have to keep the pole in my nose. BasiclLy peep myself had snot run down my entire face and mucus spewing out my nose and mouth. While a young female rn watches. Embarrassing. Is not the word Well this has been a nightmare and I'm wainting to finally wake up Good luck

I also had the Bravo PH monitor inserted 5 days ago and have had a lot of pain. Pain keeping me up at night and on day 4 started feeling nausea. If I knew the side effects before the procedure I would have never had the Bravo PH procedure. I hope this falls off soon. I don't recomend this procedure

I had the Bravo implantation done Thursday morning, 4/28. The receiver that I wear/carry just stopped recording, but like so many of you - I have trouble positioning myself to sleep - even with the head of the bed raised! I was told it would be uncomfortable, but I have never had 'heartburn' yet that symptom has happened frequently. They told me the capsule can take up to a week to actually pass through your system and I'm not looking forward to continuing to feel increased burping, heartburn and issues with sleeping until next Wednesday. But, if it tells them what my problem is, once and for all, it will have been worth it.

It took one week for my chip to fall off. Your pain will subside when it falls off. I feel for you...it hurts

I just had this done on Wed, 8/10/16. My 48 hours will complete in a few more hours. I haven't been feeling any pain and only slight discomfort from the capsule. I think a lot of the people above are exaggerating. Granted I haven't gotten my results yet but the overall procedure (Standard Endoscopy) and the probe have been fine for me. Don't let these negative comments scare you away.

The hardest thing for me has been the absence of my daily PPI. The acid that is normally suppressed has been torture. Only a few more hours to go though.

Does anyone have pain in their back when they eat with the Bravo inserted? I had the procedure done on Friday the 12th and I have been in horrible pain within seconds of swallowing any food. It feels like someone is stabbing me in the back. Losing weight as well as I don't want to eat, and when I do, I have to take tiny bites to try and get it down without wincing. My family thinks I'm crazy, but it really does hurt. I don't feel like a freak now that I read other's are experiencing pain as well. My dr is terrible at explaining or giving advise and told me to wait it out until it passes. I pray it does soon!!!!

I have the bravo inserted 4 days ago, sorer throat nausea and severe stomach pain the 1st day, pain swallowing i have had no appetite i have lost 8lbs since the bravo was inserted. I seriously doubt they will get an acid read on my test as i was barley able to eat. I would not recommend this test. I had nissen fundoplication surgery in june 2016 to fix a hital hernia and the lower spritcher of my esophahus, i have had nothing but problems since then. My dr says i shouldnt have any acid reflux because the surgery should have fixed it . Yet a scope on aug 8 reveiled i had esophagitis and acid in my esophagu, i think this is why he order the bravo. I am so frusted at this point.

Just had the Bravo Test done yesterday morning and I felt great until I returned home and the medicine wore off. I need to take something, but it hurts to swallow. I can only imagine swallowing a pill. Does anyone else have a headache? I still have the same headache I had yesterday. It took me an hour to eat a half cup of soup....I can't wait until the capsule falls off.

I also had the Bravo procedure done yesterday (9/6/16) . Had I known what I was in for, I NEVER would have agreed to this test. It feels as though I am being pierced through my chest wall every time I swallow or even take a deep breath.

Called Gastro office this morning and the nurse advised me that "it can't be the Bravo chip--its too small to feel." Yeah, right!

I am strongly considering having this removed at the ER.
