So glad followed my instincts and my search brought me here. Do have the test schedule for May 4th, 2018. Well, been worried and having this weird feeling about the whole thing. Found around many, many bad stories and bad experiences; going to look for a 2nd opinion from my trustful surgeon. There should be something else that doesn't be so risky. Do have a full package of diseases, including Hiatal hernia, AFIB, MS and more. Don't need more misery. Thank you for share your experience. Was an eye opener!

I had my Bravo inserted yesterday, 4/17/18. I felt pain immediately when I woke up. I told the doctor before I left and he said that it was normal and will get better. He was wrong. It hurts to eat or drink. I feel these spasms after I eat or drink anything. It is so painful. My doctor never told me about this pain. I had to take off of work because of the pain. I have had endoscopies before and never had pain. I hope this capsule falls off soon. Today is day 2 and it hurts a lot. I am trying to drink water so I don't dehydrate. I am very annoyed because my doctor never told me about the pain that I would feel. What a mistake.

Hi Guys , just had my bravo capsule fitted yesterday evening. Its flipping painful !. Eating and drinking are horrendous. Cant eat anymore . Only drinking little sips. Even these kill. Yup feels like a heart attack plus non stop belching and chest pain.sleeping is a joke !. Painful too. Constant nausea . Its flipping awful. Just rang the nurse and asked if the bravo will actually record the acid results properly as I dont believe it can show a true reading if your not eating and drinking normally. They just said take paracetamol. Well thats a real help and doesnt answer the question. Having done research apparently it can take up to a month to fall off !!. So looking forward to that one ! And of course the weight loss !!. Oh yes dont forget no mri s allowed for 30 days as the bravo capsule has a magnet in it. So if we go shopping ,if I can crawl out the door, will it set off the alarms ?. Hope no one is going abroad too as may have same problem. Would have been nice to know these things before the capsule was fitted !!. Oh yes and have bottom lips like Mick Jagger as for some reason the endoscopy pipe has swelled my bottom lips with horrible looking ulcers !. Feel so out of it , its like being at the wrong end of a tunnel and everyone else is at the other end. Hopefully our nightmare will be over soon when it drops off. Hope you guys feel better soon xx

11.10.18
On 11.7, my 16 year all daughter went in to have the Bravo Probe attached to her esophagus. Before we left the hospital, she complained of chest pain. The nurse told her that it would be better when she got home and starting drinking cold water, and taking acetaminophen, if necessary. She did both and no charge. The next day, I called the doctor they prescribed Carafate. I was told after 3 of 3 doses, she’d be fine...not the case. On 11. 9, I called the exchange early in the morning. We went to the ER for an X- Ray. The Bravo was attached properly, so because of the intense pain every 60 sec to 3 minutes, they started Morphine and admitted her for pain management. Morphine every 4 hours along with not being able to eat or drink due to the pain was terrible. In addition, everything she did eat or drink did not stay down. During the morning of 11.10, the Dr. gave a couple of options... at 4:00 pm, the probe was being removed! When she woke up from the procedure, she felt great and we went home 3 hours later.

Hi, I am so sorry about your daughter. I had the procedure done 1 week ago. The 1st 24 hours were hell for me. I was in so much pain. I can relate to the pain ur daughter felt. My device has yet to dislodge. I'm miserable every day. I go in for xrays tomorrow. It's unfortunate that doctors do not tell us what we will REALLY experience.

Mine was placed on Monday, and was supposed to monitor for 96 hrs, but shut down a day early. My chest has hurt from the beginning, and not just when I eat. I know the capsule is still there, but I read that it can take 10-12 days. My surgeon told me to resume taking my medication for reflux, and the chest pain would go away, don't believe it!

I had mine put in almost a week ago. The pain was just starting to ease up and now its hurting again. I am hoping this means its about to fall off. I can't stand it. I can't take my pills, eat or even drink.
