brown discharge instead of period, what does this mean?

ok, so here's the deal! had sex around my ovulation date with a condom. i always make him pull out even though we use condoms to ease my paranoia about becoming pregnant! so he pulled out and i actually saw him cum a minute later. the condom was off, we looked everywhere and realized it was stuck inside me... even though he did not cum in me, i am worried.... i was so freaked out i went home and took birth control hoping that if i took it for a week and then stopped, three days later i would start my period.... so my third day came and i got this brown snotty discharge, it looks like the stuff that comes out right before you start... so i thought for sure i would start the next day, two days later and it is still the same thing... just a little bit of brown discharge. is this really the beginning of my peroid? why is it taking so long to come? i should mention that at the time we actually had sex, i was not on the pill, i started it that night. could i have gotten pregnant from the precum anyway?
