i've been on the nuvaring for about 3 weeks now and my boyfreind just got back from 4 weeks trip. We had sex and I started bleeding during sex ,it has never happend before he left. And I have brown spotting on my underwear. I hate it!!!!!!!
Is this side effect? Anyone has this problem????
I went to the clinic the first day it happend ,he said its a side effect for another month or two. but i'm bleeding lightly all the time during sex and it stops after and i just have brown discharge............
I'm freaking it out!!!!!! I feel like removing the NUVA Ring, its totally messed me up... :-( :'(

i have had a problem similar to the one posted above. I have been on the nuva ring for about 3 1/2 years now and up until the past year i haven't had a problem. When i'm not having sex i have regular periods and i dont spot but the last 4 times i've had sex starting in March all the way up to just recently (its now August) i have started to bleed during sex. I have no idea why and it is HIGHLY annoying and somewhat embarrassing. Is this a normal problem? or is it at least Common? Although i REALLY love the fact that its an awesome method to prevent pregnancy as i dont have to take a pill everyday, i think it may be time for other options...unfortunately. can someone else relate to this problem????

ive been with the same person sexually for seven years...i am now in a new relationship an every time we have sex i bleed. At first it was lite and bright red or pink but now its very brown coloring but still lite...ive never bleed before during sex even when i lost my virginity so its freaking me out a little bit. I went to a clinic and am STD negative but am scared to go to my ob/gyn in case of getting bad news. I got a tubal lygation a year ago and a few people have told me that cysts are very common after getting "fixed". Is that true? My boyfriend isnt embarrased about it he just thinks that something serious could be very wrong. I just thought that being with a new person that could be causing it expecially since im not in any pain only one time did i get cramps afterwards the other times i just clean up and i dont bleed at all afterwards...what is goin on with me? Could this be a sign of cancer or something? Wouldnt i be in pain if it was something that serious? help...

I was on the NUVARING for years and nothing like this ever happened. Now, I have brown spots on my face and I have brown discharges in my underwear. I have always loved nuvaring, because it is a great method of birth control. However, this makes me wonder if the patent was changed or if they enhanced the amount of drugs that are in the ring. I just wonder now. Side effects were not this prevalent my first time on the ring. I will continue to use the ring for a couple of months. If I have the same reactions, then I will change. Ladies, I am quite sure that there is nothing medically inept or wrong with your bodies, so please visit your ob/gyn or medical provider for more information.
