I've experienced both a bartholin cyst 3yrs ago and a labia minora cyst 2 days ago ... I have seen a gyno both times about and have been told that mine in particular comes from shaving ... Some ppl can and have no problems & other like me get cyst ... She explained that when u shave u open up ur pores in my case when the pores open the hair follicles go inside of my pores clogging my glands causing it to swell ...she recommended waxing & using a exfoliating wash to remove dead skin cells or hair follicles after to avoid the cyst fron forming ... She also said tht if u ever wanna know if u have a infection and not just a regular cyst some indications maybe u having a fever and or nausea and if the cyst itself is hot to the touch or extremely red ... Fortunately for me my cyst in both cases were not infection related it was due to my grooming process ... To help with drainage Sitz baths(sea salt & very warm water) helps the cyst come to a head so tht it can drain ... also boiling water and using a wash cloth to apply the water as hot as u can stand it directly in the cyst making sure to change wash clothes each time in case it burst because u don't want to catch an infection from a reused cloth ... be sure to take enough pain medicine before trying these methods because they do work but are painful because its drawing the cyst to a head so that ut can release the fluid inside .. I hope this info can help someone I know how painful these cyst are

I noticed a hard lump on the right inner part of my labia a couple days ago. I noticed it because it hurt after wiping when I peed. It was very hard and shiny. I had just used a clitoral stimulator toy that day and thought maybe I rubbed too hard with it. Anyway I put peroxide and witch hazel on it and soaked in a hot bath. The next day it popped on its own and some blood came out. Day 3 it's almost completely gone and doesn't hurt anymore. It's flat now but I can see where it was so I am keeping it clean with peroxide and witch hazel and using polysporin antibiotic ointment just in case. I am 42 and the first time I ever had anything like that down there. Freaked me out a little. Also, I am a little underweight so I guess body size is not a factor. I'm glad it didn't stick around long!

I have had one for almost a year that is a little smaller than pea sized. I have been tested for STD's 2-3 times since I Have had it out of paranoia and my doctor told me they pours can get easily clogged, that it could be a cyst or a few other things, but that it is nothing to worry about. It doesnt bother until I mess with it but my body knows its foreign and it drives me nuttsss!!! For over a year it has been smaller than pea sized and internal, you could only feel it, now its starting to come to a head on my inner labia on the left side towards the hole. I want to pop this thing so bad and ofcourse still get paranoid about STD's even though I have been confirmed clean multiple times and I have only been with my husband since I have had this issue anwyays, i do not have multiple sleeping partners. Is it okay to pop this thing, do you get releif? It is sarting to look like somewhat of a blister where it is coming to a head on my inner labia. I am so tired of this thing and I want it gonneee. Please no reocurrance. And whoever asked about the HPV vaccine, I did have one when I was a teenger, maybe 17, I am 26 now and this is the first issue I have had with it. SO glad to know I am not alone. Thank god for the internet, imagine how gross a lot of people felt about a lot of different things before we could talk so openly like this to one another!

So thankful for this post! Being a 17 year old girl who is not at all sexually active, I was very confused when i felt irritation on the left side my vagina - then found what appeared to be a lump with a blister-like end on my labia majora. I've noticed people mentioning that this could be stress related? If so, that would make sense for me since I am in the middle of very stressful exams and have been getting all sorts of general stress symptoms. It's nice to know other people are going through what you are though, you automatically frear the worse when you find things like these on your body.I will have to try oil cleansing first to see what happens; thankyou everyone for your advice I'm sure it's helped many!

Omg I just found one laying in bed. It didn't hurt much so I squeezed it and it popped and yellow pus came out ALOT then blood. Scared the c**p out of me!! I was shaking < I'm suck an over thinking baby xD > I went right to google after I cleaned it and found this. :P >.< I'm 17, still a virgin and never been to the female doctor for a check up. Just for birth control ( I get bad cramps ) Iv been extremely stressed by final exams. So maybe that's why it came up...

I am 16 almost 17 years old, and I had just discovered one of these yesterday. I was feeling slight discomfort and itchiness throughout the day and decided to have a look, I have one about 3mm large near the inside but lower part of the labia minora and a small yellow/white one directly on the bottom edge of my left labia (minora). The larger more inner one seemed to have become almost scaley and a little covered in fluid, I feared it may be infected although that's the condition it was in when I first found it. It is a mesh of some red and yellow white (like the others smaller one) and it can't be an STD because I am not sexually active. I dont know if I should bring this up to my mom or wait until my next doctors appointment, I don't want it getting any worse but if it is going to go away on its own I'd rather not involve my mom. Any advice? (This is also the first bumps that I have had appear.)

Take baths it brings the cyst to a head quicker, and if you shave, stop. Once I stopped shaving my issues went away. I never shaved anything near where the cysts were, but now I have none since I stopped.

Thank you! I took a bath and today they both just seem a creamy yellow white and one of them increased in size, and one became more painful (stingy sometimes) I just hope it will pass soon :/

Alright I have a question so around my Labia minora and urethal opening theres these tiny clear bumps? are those normal? I dont have any stds and I do have a sex life but I have been tested. They're sort of itchy but they go away after a while and then flair up again after I have sex?

Ladies, if you think the gyno is not giving you a good answer, there is the dermatologist.  But see them when there is a flair up.   I have never had tiny clear bumps
