Hi. Yesterday I noticed a small bone-like bump on my lower jaw about half an inch below the teeth. It is round and hard and probably about half the size of a gum-drop. I'm not really sure how long I've had this bump, but I am very concerned. It is located right around where the tip of the tongue rests behind the teeth. I am worried that it is a tumor or something. Does anyone have some insight on what this could possibly be? Also, my mom works for a dentist who could examine it, but I won't be home for about another 5 weeks and I don't have health insurance. Is this something that can wait that long? Thanks for any insight you can give me.
