I am suddenly experiencing burning urination accompanied by bleeding. I have not had sexual intercourse so could this be a bladder infection? I really have no idea. I'm a college freshman and I'm afraid this will sound a lot like an STD. Should I come home though to see a doctor? It jus started today. Advice please.t

This sounds like something I've experienced before! Yes, when I had those symtoms last year it was a Bladder Infection A.K.A Urinary Track Infection. If you are feeling like I was, then I hope you've seeked help by now, because it only gets worse the longer you wait.

Hello there,

Your symptoms sounds like UTI and you will have to see your doctor about this matter. This infection is treated with antibiotics and you can’t get these in the pharmacy but you need doctor’s prescription.

Once you do the urinary analysis and your doctor diagnoses you with UTI you can start taking antibiotics and the painful symptoms of UTI are going to stop in a few days. Avoid having sex during this period because it is not going to be pleasant and not to mention that you can slow down your healing process.

You should also increase intake of fluids such as water and lemonade. This will help you to wash out bacteria from your organism so you can heal faster.
