Hi X,
Unfortunately the only way to know if you have/still have chlamydia is to retest. It's a good idea in any case because even though the assumption is that the pills will "cure" chlamydia in some cases they don't.
There can be some scarring if you've had any STD. The only way to know is to have your fallopian tubes scoped. That would probably only be done if you have trouble conceiving again. Usually scarring results from a long-term infection, much longer than what you had.
Ask the doctor that treated you. They know your history, the treatment, etc. We don't.
Hope it helps.

What "never works?"
If you're trying to get pregnant it can take up to a YEAR with regular intercourse. That is NORMAL. Only if it goes past a year do we begin to evaluate your fertility.

Hi Lizz,
As I said in the above post, it can take up to a year of regular intercourse - and it is NORMAL. If it has been more than a year then BOTH of you need to see a fertility specialist. Don't just assume there is something wrong with you. It can be the male with the problem. You can expect a full physical with labs drawn and an internal exam. Your partner can expect a semen analysis.
Hope it helps.

Dear readers,
It is one of the most discouraging pains for a woman, to feel like you can never get a child of your own, which is caused by a small mistake you made in past.
I really feel your pain and fear. I almost cry every night and I have panicking attacks once in a while.
It happened about 1.5 year ago. I had a rough break up with someone I admired and loved a lot. After this break up I decided to come out of my shelf more. I never went out and I always was the kind of innocent person who tried to help other people. I had date with a guy and the same evening we decided to have sexual intercourse. We used a condom for the penetration but before that we have had some body contact. After we had sex I had a sharp pain while peeing, which is ,of course, not a rare to happen. After a few weeks I got some clear symptoms of chlamydia who were getting worse and worse, but there could be nothing wrong I thought, since I always use a condom. Till I had to go to the hospital, because I had a very sharp pain in my stomach (which I never felt before). Doctors asked me if I had a chance on a STD, but I answered with no, since I thought I always did it very safe. So they only took a test on a possible UTI and I got antibiotics as cure. After 2.5 I took an STD test and everything came out negative, so everything was good. But the antibiotics for my UTI could cure a chlamydia infection as well. I always kept doubting and doubting about what it could have been since I came to know that you don’t have to have penetration to get infected with chlamydia. After about 1 year I decided to call the guy I had sex with at that time. After he came back from a journey through Asia he took a STD test and got tested positive for chlamydia. Since then the world turning.
This was my biggest nightmare which could happen. Having the chance to become infertile and not being able to get children. The thought of becoming a mother has always made me so excited and happy. I’ve always wanted children of my own, I knew when I was very young. I even was happy when got my first period because I knew now I grew up and I could be able to get children. What happened is really harsh on me, especially because it wasn’t a normal infection, I got extreme symptoms for 3 months straight and went to the doctor when it was an emergency. The thing which makes me the most sad is that I have an awesome boyfriend right now, who has clear which for children in the future, just like his parents and my parents. They talk about it regularly, but I can tell them nothing about my situation, especially not because he lives with a pretty strict but caring culture (he is Turkish). It hurts me a lot, I have no trust in me being fertile anymore and I keep hoping, crying and praying. I really hope it is gonna be alright and I can get pregnant and have healthy children in the future I always wished for. I will teach them not to make the same mistakes as I made.
I know I can not find out if I will be able to get pregnant as long as I don’t start with trying. First we want to have a stable environment and income and me and my boyfriend are still studying. I just really hope someone can tell me something about the chances to be infertile right now, so maybe I can find some peace in this or to prepare for the worst case scenario.
I wish you all the best, luck and love.

I realise you wrote this a while ago but I don't think you've got anything to worry about. It's true that you won't know until you try but infertility is a consequence of long term exposure, i.e. Not getting it treated (common as many people get no symptoms). Yours was treated very quickly so the chances of it having caused any problems are very slim.
