I'm going through this problem as well. Broke out so bad. I have been using Aztec secret healing Indian clay daily. I have oily skin so it doesn't dry me out so I wouldn't use it every day if you have dryer skin. It's been just a couple days and my skins clearing up Andrea looking a lot better! Hope it helps! Yes. I have little small bumps (pimples idk) appear when I use a vitamin c serum. I get the same reaction when I use coconut oil on my face. Same thing with witch hazel of any kind. Same thing if I use aloe more than once every few days. It’s irritation. Vitamin c can definitely do this. I’ve tried on mAny different occasions so it’s not a time of the month thing & ota not a mix of product thing. It’s an irritation thing.

Too much vitamin C actually causes acne flare-ups especially on serums. I know this cause I made such serum, like above 20% of net weight, when I applied it upon my facial skin, the little tiny acne popped up in just one night, I wondered why, apparently that's cause of the vitamin c powder I dilluted in the serum mix. No good tho. Use small amount only.

I have also broken out with pimples and the only possible cause is Vitamin C Serum. After initially having a break out I targeted the possible cause, the Vitamin C serum, and tested it by using it on specific days just to see if it would cause me to break out with acne. I tried this four separate times, using two different brands of serum, with the same result.

I feel like this is the same for me. My skin is only getting worse. I never had problems with acne. I just started getting into anti-aging skin care and have found that my once even toned skin has become blotchy and acne prone. Thinking of just stopping it all and go back to my very little effort skin routine.

Does Vitamin C serum really work? Of course it does! The benefits are endless and it is possible to get positive results with continuous use, given that you use sunscreen regularly.
You might be curious, how long does Vitamin C serum take to work? My answer will be at least a month, or even two. And you have to keep at it as using only once in a while will not give you any results.
But one needs to know how to use Vitamin C serum to get those benefits. Using it without considering one’s skin condition and other things mentioned earlier can cause more damage than good. Be very cautious to not take the side effects of Vitamin C serum lightly.

Yrs. I recently started using a good quality vitamin C serum. It works well for the age spots, but causes pimples, esp on my forehead. So now i only use it on the spots, and not all over my face.

I think you might be right. I just started a very strong vitamin C serum two weeks ago, and I have been having inflamed bumps since then. It's called Tatcha Violet C. I get inflamed bumps covering most of my lower face below my eyes when I eat fruit such as oranges, mangoes, peaches, bananas. Although that is an internal cause, I theorize that the vitamin C externally is having the same affect on my face but with less bumps. I no longer eat fruit. I will cut back the vit C to once a week until my inflammation stops. The first few days I was using the vit C on my face showed improvement, but now new inflammation bumps appear everyday. The use of vitamin C is the only change I have had in my routine. My diet and skincare routine are the same. I do believe the vit C product is working properly but my skin is too sensitive to use it every day. I will check back in a few weeks and update the results.
