What's your verdict? Since fall is here I have been going casserole happy but I find that people are of two strong camps on the issue, either they love em or consider them right up there with Walmart.

If you're making them, G, I'll eat 'em.

One of the greatest comfort foods of all time. Easy, too. Though cleanup can sometimes be a b!tch.

What is a casserole? I remember the name but I'm quite sure my wife has never made one in 51 years so my memory must be from living with my mother.

Oh, boiled dinners are foul, yes.....but a nice creamy chicken and wild rice casserole with mushrooms and garlic....which is coincidentally what I had for lunch...oh yummmy.......

Easy, relatively fast to make, although yes, cleanup sometimes sucks....and you can "healthy" them up a bit by using lower fat cheese, milk, half and half, or even reduced fat cream of mushroom soup and stuff.....or you can make em the regular way...dump, stir and bake.

Oh I love boiled dinners, if there's something in there you don't like don't eat it. My wife never made any but my mother, an old Maineiac from Fort Kent, made them all the time. I can still find them at public dinners.

We smoked a turkey yesterday (the high off of that was amazing, dude!)

I made a broth from the carcass and today I'm going to make a Turkey Pot pie using the leftover turkey and broth.

It sounds yummy!

I'm very iffy on casseroles...I have to know exactly what is in them, who made them and even then I reserve the right to turn up my nose. :umno: That being said my mom makes a few that I adore.

Here kitty kitty.....
I know what you mean though. Some people use them as a means to use up ALL the leftovers in the house, whether they were meant to be combined or not. :umno:

What kind of cassarole's are there? My mom used to make green bean cassarole that I hated. I don't want to base my vote off of one crappy cassarole.
