I am a 22 year old married woman and have been experiencing cervical pain with intercourse and breakthrough bleeding for the last 2 years. 2 years ago when I went for my yearly pap my OBGYN noticed bleeding and cervical pain upon exam. A pap and Chlamydia test were done and I was treated with Zithromax. Both the pap and Chlamydia tests were negative. However the pain and bleeding continued and when I returned to the Dr. my birthcontrol was changed and more cultures were done, all of which came back negative. My Dr. could not really give an explanation for the pain. Now my bleeding is more frequent and sex is no longer enjoyable. I am wondering if there is anything that can be done for me or is this something I'm just going to have to live with? HELP!

I had the same issues, and one thing that was tested for was UREA PLASMA. it is rarely tested for, but mine came back positive. it can be an STI but can also occur in other parts of the body. After being treated my pain decreased. I still have some pain, but the cervical bleeding and pelvic pain did disappear, though not the cervical pain as much.it is similar to the chlamydia but is usually overlooked.
