Hi.
A few months ago I was in Jordan and I ran up a sand dune very fast. When I reached the top my heart was hurting me and I could barely breathe. I though I was going to have a heart attack. It subsided after 30 minutes but I still had difficulty taking deep breathes.
I went to the doctor 5 days after this happened. He examined me and ran an EKG on me. The EKG came back fine. The doctor told me that I had strained my chest and gave me a muscle relaxer that I was to take for 5 days; I took them.
Even after I finished the prescribed medication I still find a bit of difficulty breathing (deeply). If I try to take a deep breath it is difficult and I feel a sort of strain in my chest/heart (not unbearable, just a strain). However, this became a serious issue for me because yesterday my heart was bothering me a lot and I found extreme difficulty in breathing without strain. Even when eating it bothered my when I swallowed.
What could be the problem? Did I ruin my heart? Can this be treated?
Thank you

I too have this problem, I am 18 with extreme anxiety issues. I have not found a cause of it, but I assume it is due to stress factors. i can't give you a definitive "cure", per se, but some good ways I have found to deal with it are listening to calming sounds or music, drinking water[as well as other liquids], leaning back in a chair, and breating in cold air. Sorry if none of this helps, but I figure any response towards this is better than none. I hope you feel better soon, and I know you can get through this!
