I was given a name for it, It can effect your heart rate and should be checked out as soon as possible. I was recently told about this by my doctor. Check your pulse for a minute, or just check your heart BPM. feel your chest for 15 seconds and count how many times your heart beats multiply that number by 4. an average is around 60 - 100 a 100 being high. A normal person would be about 60 when they're calm. This is just one symptom, if your positive the treatment is surgery, they'll insert a medal plate in your chest to spread it apart giving the heart more room. CAUTION: regardless of whether you think you have this or not you NEED to get it checked out to eliminate the possibilities of you having it. It can cost you your life if you don't get it checked out. MORAL of this post: Get it checked out by a doctor, also I meant to add that it can cause humiliation if the people around you know about it, you can get it fixed with a brace if it's not affecting your heart, even if it is affecting your heart there is a possible brace solution but sitting around googling it is definitely not a good solution.

It is called a High Chest Bone, It will NOT cause problem's with your Heart Rate as someone else said, I should know as I was born with a High Chest Bone. I would ask you all who are concerned to go and see the one person who can help and support you the most and best is your Doctor.

Good Luc:-)

I had my pigeon chest deformity happen. to me right at puberty. Right bone in my chest began sticking out. My left breast stopped growing. Being a shy child I told nobody. Always embarrassed I get married and am ashamed to let my husband see me naked for 18 years when we divorced. My breastbone deformity ruined my sex life. I was a poor farm girl and I would just like doctors to make parents and children know what this is and that it can be fixed. Shame and ignorance unfortunately ruined my sex life and just today did I read what was wrong with me in this forum. I have tears running down my face because I'm 71 and it's too late but dear God I'd love to see a flat sternum and an implant in my left breast just to know how it would feel to look normal.
