To all, certain bacteria in the mouth causes staining is eliminated through medication. One person here mentioned that they had black discoloration for 8 months and after being treated with amoxicillin for a sinus infection the staining went away. Not only does bacteria cause staining on teeth, but can also be very damaging to the body systematically. It doesn’t seem these dentists know what they are doing. I would see a physician and get medication if it were me. Or, have an oral DNA analysis done and target the bacteria. Best wishes.

My 7 year old has the same issue. It started all of a sudden. After a lot of research, I started brushing him using kitchen baking soda. This seems to get most of the black stains out. But they do come back after few months.

All of my 4 daughters have this teeth staining also know as Chromogenic bacteria. After extensive online research I found an article suggesting that oregano oil should very good for oral health. My 2 older daughter aged 10 and 12 are now oil pulling each night before brushing with 2 drops of oregano oil in 1 spoon of carrier oil.
They have been doing this for 1 month. My 12 year old hadnt had her teeth polished for at at least 5 months and seems like the current stains have become lighter.
My 10 year old had her teeth polished in December and been oil pulling since. Oil pulling has definitely helped, some staining is back but decreased compared to how much she would get normally.

Please note, Oregano oil is very strong and even a few drops mixed with carrier oil will sting when oil pulling. My younger daughter aged 5 would not be able to use this mixture

Hello. Is Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa) extremely harmful? According to 'HAIN DIAGNOSTICS', I have an 'extremely high bacterial load' of it. It is above the high threshold line, along with 'Eikenella corrodens' (Ec) bacteria.

Hi, just wanted to share what worked for me with Chromogenic Bacteria. I got it 2 years ago after developing pet allergies, and it kept coming back, as soon as 1 month after dental cleanings. It usually starts on the back side of my back teeth, along the gum line and sometimes spreads to the front side of my back teeth.

What worked for me was Crest Detoxify Deep Clean toothpaste. The black dots were 90% gone in 3 days. Here's what I did: - Brush with Crest Detoxify Deep Clean toothpaste + Oral B electric toothbrush. Don't rinse. - Use a flashlight to see where all the dots are. - Dab extra toothpaste on those areas. For between teeth area, dab and floss the toothpaste in. Again, dont rinse..let the toothpaste pentrate in the teeth to get rid of the bacteria.

Also going to try Crest 3D White Advanced toothpaste remove 90% stain and Lacer Blanc toothpaste + mouthwash (recommended by one of the answer here...the mouthwash has H202 - which is an ingredient recommend by another answer). So far, Detoxify Deep Clean has removed majority of my stain in 3 days.
