Hello incase you haven't yet found an answer your problem sounds to have been from the migraine. My gf has had very similar issues since she was a young teen, and after many doctors visits we finally found that she suffers from an extremely mild case of epilepsy. Her migraines or episodes however are usually short with either a euphoric effect, or migraine pain, followed immediately by IBS. Following is constipation for several days.

It sounds as though your migraine may indeed have been a minor seizure, but without jumping to conclusions I suggest you first check you diet and eating habits first, as well as visiting a doctor for your constipation as it can be cause by a mass multitude of symptoms. Don't be worried, especially if you don't have the headaches regularly.

Hope this helps

Since the problem in the original post was brought on by antibiotics the most obvious first solution to try, is taking probiotics.

Hello. Had similar case of loose stool every morning but only after taking antibiotics for pain in my gums/tooth. Went to an internist and gave me OMX twice daily for one week, and now its back to normal, also ate apple and banana daily, no milk and oily foods. Thank God.

Your body is complaining about what's in it and is letting you know that it needs expelled, but since it doesn't know how to accomplish this - your body is trying whatever methods possible: thru Gas, bowel movement, nausea, etc.

Now, there's no saying whether you're body is reacting to something that's not part of your physical being (parasites, food, etc), or if it's reacting to its own presence (autoimmune disorders - cells attack its own body coz it doesn't recognize itself, etc). But maybe YOU have a gut feeling as to which one you fall under, and can relay this to your doctor.

Doctors can be blinded, tunnel-visioned, or just plain stubborn about what they think your symptoms are versus what you've been telling them - so speak up & remember that it is YOUR BODY, and your money/insurance being spent. Ask (or demand if necessary) for whatever tests or meds you feel you need, turn down what isn't working for you, etc. It's your health, your wellness - don't be satisfied with what your doctor says or gives you until you've verified that it's actually working out for you. If it's not, demand something else - or see another doctor altogether. You don't have to wait for your doctor to put in a consult to a specialty clinic - just go to that clinic yourself (whether it's Endocrinology, gastroenterology, oncology, nephrology, hematology, etc) and get the ball rolling.

I say this as a patient of a specialty clinic in which I also happen to work. We see so many doctors essentially "c**k-blocking", when a referral to a specialist is what the patient truly needs. My primary care doctor wouldn't let me go - even when my issue was outside her line of expertise. I had to bully my way thru, in order to finally see results.

I would suggest from symptoms such as extreme bloat, where I felt and looked like I was 6 months pregnant. It was like cramps but so painful that I'd hunch over from the sudden pain. I'd have loose stools or barely any even though I felt like I wasn't done going. I also felt nauseaus. All these issues combined, affected my eating. I tried cutting out any ingredients that could cause gas or bloat - including onions. I tried cutting out fat. Then starch. Then sodium. Then caffeine. Then sugar. Everything I tried would work for a short time, then I was back to suffering the same old c**p again. They checked for parasites, allergies, etc. It was none of these. This had gone on for years (starting in early adulthood), until I started peeing blood in the last few months. (I'm now 42.) I was scared that my problems had evolved. I started to get a gut feeling that my issue was either an autoimmune disorder or that my body wasn't processing toxins/waste the way a normal body would. This life or death scare made me more demanding and vocal with my doctor. I decided not to take anything they said at face value until it felt right to me. After all, it's MY body.

So after several ultrasounds, CT scan (no shots), triple phase CT scan, I had my answer. (If it weren't for my copper IUD, they would've been able to do an MRI as well.) I have "medullary sponge kidney (msk)" - also known as sponge kidney. Fortunately it's only 1 kidney that has this problem. MSK causes other symptoms such as kidney stones, back/body pain, nausea, and everything else that trickles down from there. It's like an endless rabbit hole from Alice in Woodland. It can affect your bowl movements, depending on how well your kidney is functioning/filtering that day.

Maybe this is your issue, or maybe it's something else. But I'd add it to the list of things to check out - as well as any other renal possibilities. People forget that kidneys/renal function is part of the whole "toxin removal/cleansing" step that works in conjunction with digestion and bowel function. Remember to keep pushing your doctor to step out of their comfort zone (or ego) and take charge of your health! I hope you find the answers you're looking for.

Sadly I have been experiencing the same problems since around August of 2017 after I had gotten a pretty bad stomach ulcer, we didn't think much of it at the time but now I'm beginning to think it caused some serious damage to my bowels, at the age of 16 however I would really hope that I don't have the condition however from what I read and the consistency of my stool always being around a 5, 2 or a 6 on the Bristol stool chart I fear the worst, I'm going to ask my GP about getting tested or even treatment, this condition is tearing me apart.

I have the same exact symptoms as you! Diagnosed with Giardia in 2016, after 9 months of GI issues. treated with metro, and the symptoms went away for about 6 months, and have been coming and going since May of last year. I have two loose stools every AM, but the odd thing is I have occasional small "normal" stools in the evening. My samples are coming back negative for everything. I was beginning to wonder if the parasite was laying dormant and starting to colonize again? Or I guess it's possible that I had giardia for so long it destroyed my intestinal lining. I have a colonoscopy on Monday (not looking forward to that). I'll let you all know if I get any answers.

Thanks! I have been pretty depressed for about 1 1/2 years now after a 7 year relationship ended, (it was mutual at the time) plus sandwiched between 26 year old male (out of house but needs support) and 93 year old mother still in her house and both just rely on me- and I have just about given up on a life for myself - and in the last 6 months have gotten stomach cramps every morning, and 2 quick bowel movements in morning- everything described in other stories sounds like me- depressed, trapped, stopped going out because always needed, stopped eating, too many glasses of wine, coffee, not enough food, and now i've just made it worse this way. I guess I will try the anti reflux diet before it gets much worse. From reading everyone's story, I believe its all caused by anxiety.

I've been following this thread for years now. I've had the AM bowel issues like everyone else, I believe my initial problems started 5+ years ago and began around a period of high stress and anxiety like others in this thread. I've tried many remedies this thread has suggested, most haven't helped. I stumbled on something that's helping me recently, I've been taking a sip of pepto before bed at night. I know it's not a ground breaking discovery to take pepto for stomach issues. However the timing of the pepto has been what's helped me the most. I found that if my stomach wakes me up at 4 AM it's too late for pepto. Since I've been taking pepto before bed my stomach hasn't woken me up yet. The few nights I've forgotten I've woken up with stomach pains really early.

Can anyone explain why this is helping me? Does this point to an underlying stomach or a intestine problem?

I am type O blood too and have had LOTS of issues and I absolutely know when I stay away from gluten and dairy there is a huge difference. I have NO gallbladder and I wonder if THAT is why I get the yellow on the tp as well!
