Okay to jump into it all...
I started taking Cipro for an infection from an open cut on my head. My doctor also gave me Aviane birth control for my painful periods. I started the cipro immediately on April 5, and took a bcp on the 6th due to a miscommunication. I had unprotected sex on the night of April 17. After sex I started bleeding. The bleeding lasted for about 2-3 days, followed by 4-5 days of brown discharge or spotting. I'm not to sure what to call it, but it showed up when I would wipe. I was told to start my bc on Monday 18, which I did. During this time, I also had terrible migraines. Not sure if thats due to the medicine though.
Now I have sore breasts, & occasional headaches. Could this have been implantation bleeding or from the bc? Would my bc even work since I have been on cipro? My last pill is tomorrow.

It definitely wasn't implantation bleeding because implantation bleeding happens only to a smaller percent of pregnant women and it happens at the time you are supposed to get your period, but more importantly, it lasts only for a few hours and its usually bright red or pinkish. So, the more likely cause for this spotting happening is you starting birth control pills, especially if you already have a history of painful or irregular periods. And, as far as antibiotics are concerned, Cipro is thought to be one of the rare who does not affect the BC pill effectiveness, so chances are you are not pregnant. But you can always take a pregnancy test, to make sure.
