Oh my goodness this sounds like me this past period I started on Monday may 5th and ended around Monday may 12th I do have sex very frequently cause I am engaged to my first and only sexual partner we did attempt to haven sex close to the end of my period when there just about no blood on the 11th but that made it flow a little more and pushed it to Monday and we tried again Tuesday and there was no more blood but I was noticing an odor I never had before and it was a lot more liquids down there vs the more slimy natural lubrication you get but I didn't think much of it I till we finished and when I went to clean myself it looked like I had old blood kind of surfacing or something because it was a grayish brown liquid but it would only happen when we had swx otherwise all I have is this consistant clear liquid I'm trying to keep off my pants iv been wearing tampons almost every day because every time we have sex it's like it brings it back or if I'm doing a lot of heavy activity it just gets really wet and it's the same clear liquid with the strange odor but I just don't understand what it is and it's going on two weeks now

I don't know because I'm only 13, only use pads, and have never "done it" and this is happening to me, but there is always very little clear fluid, and it's kinda yellow sometimes.

I'm 14, and have never had this happen before now. My period was supposed to start about two days ago but instead i only get clear fluid. It has a really heavy smell. I only use pads and no tampons. I haven't been to a doctor yet because I'm hoping it will go back to normal, but from the rest of the comments it doesn't seem to. Kind of worried, but at least theres no blood haha....

This is so weird. It's been happening to me the past few periods too. And sometimes I take out my tampon and half of it is filled with the clear liquid and the other half with blood. It's like one side is having the problems I guess in falopean tubes or somethin idk but it's so strange and I haven't been to the doctor about it. But it's annoying cause it always leaks through so fast!

hello, I know you wrote this a long time ago but I just came across it... I am experiencing the same thing! Mine has a VERY strong smell as well.... like some sort of chemical or something. I'm worried. Have you figured anything out?

I, too, have had this situation of my tampons being saturated with a clear fluid. My nurse midwife suggested it might be from a draining cyst. A recent ultrasound showed that I had recently had a ruptured ovarian cyst. I have an appointment with her to discuss this cyst issue. Glad my midwife knew the answer!

I'm 22, a virgin and I use a menstrual cup.

I can't believe this is not diagnosed and how common it is! Medhelp also has dozens of posts about it and other sites on the web.

I first started having the clear fluid when I started using menstrual cups. I'd feel as if I'd flooded my cup. Yet go to the toilet and find clear fluid all over my personals and sometimes on my legs. It's been very embarrassing to rush off like that...And no, It's no urine. I know it's not discarge, as my discharge is almost like snot in consistency. This is watery and usually without a smell.

What is it? It is a bacterial infection? I clean my cup once a month with the tablets designed for this brand. I also rinse every use with cold water (was suggested not to use hot as it can damage the cup and keep stains on it).

I do have a very heavy period on my second day, and get very bad period pain. So wondering if that is related. Since the liquid is on the first and second days.

I know it's not a sexual infection, since I've never had sex.

It's 2014 and is is not diagnosed....I mean...what?!

I started getting it with using a cup though. I know it's odd. I get it on the first two days. It literally feels like I've overflowed, but it's just clear fluid. Someone suggested it's clear blood serum. Many good idea here. Not sure what it really is though.

Women have a gland called the skene's gland which produces a clear liquid when sexually stimulated. The tampon can stimulate it causing the liquid to be released.

I just learned this!!! It's plasma. When you have a really clotty or heavy period the plasma separates from the blood. It's not harmful but if you get treated for your clotty or heavy periods it should help.

I was not wearing a tampon today when I felt the rush if my cycle filling my pants....went to toilet and a blush of first day as per usual but soaked underwear of clear fluid...I threw out my panties and went commando . I had sniffed to be sure I was not incontinent......but no odour. Something else...I don't use tampons...I use a menstrual cup.....and I get the same effect....here's something....the fluid does seem to be beside the cup...not in it....underwear still gets soaked! I think it is the stimulus. ...I squirt during orgasm sometimes.....im sure its the same fluid - 44 yr old married with 4 kids ..not on pill (Tubes tied). This has been happening to me too for the last half year maybe....I thought itay be change of life but there are young women reporting this.

Yes i can have two days of a heavy flow and on the third day I'm soaking my pads with clear heavy fluids with an odd oder .and I still have pain then 5 day the flow will come back light for 5 hours then back heavy thru the end
