Women know when something isn't right.
You can't type that comment and expect to shame us all into silence and complicity.
Nice try.

I have the same problem and seriously thought it was the brand of tampons I was using. I have switched 3 times to different brands and the problem persists! I am married to a family doctor and he has never had a patient complain of this. I am going to visit my gyn next month and discuss the issue. It is very embarrassing because I will be out in public and think that I have leaked blood but really it is water.

I am 39 years old with 5 kids. I have been having the same situation for over a year now. My periods are pretty regular (within 5-10 days) but the last 3 days of my cycle usually comes out clear. It looks yellowish in the tampon but when I squeeze it out onto tissue, it is clear and without any odor. I asked my OB/GYN about it at my last annual and he said that it is a normal part of getting older. That as we mature, the composition of our menses changes. I call BS on that. I was fine with that at first but now I am noticing that on the months that I have the worst ovulation cramping, there is more clear menses. This month was particularly bad and I have been filling tampons with this clear liquid.
I am frustrated because I have one week of ovulation cramps and one week of period cramps - I am spending half my life affected by this! I believe that there is a correlation to the cramping and clear menses, but I cannot be sure. I do not find it at all reassuring that this thread has been up here for years and no one has an answer. I think that it is time for me to seek out a second opinion.

That would be awesome cause I have been trying to figure out how to squirt with my boyfriend so yayy, its the only thing that makes sense too and would explain why doctors don't know why its happening or even what it is. It is right up against the g spot and is described to be the exact same liquid (clear and odorless).

I've been having the same thing happen for the last few cycles... I think less than 5.
For the first day or two I'll have very little actual blood (compared to what was normal for me) yet there are pieces of the wall present; I'm 19, no males in the home life, and no birth control and don't use tampons... I've read about what can cause odd periods and while the website wasn't specific on less blood than normal, the site listed ovary problems as one of the things to watch out for; which scares me because my mom had uterine tumors that she finally had to get a hysterectomy for, and she has said one of her female relatives died from uterine cancer.
I haven't had any more pain than usual, no unusual scents, so at this point I am seriously hoping it's nothing to be worried about. >.<

i just had it happen as well! i've had super heavy periods because of a fibroid for about a year, and then last month I actually expelled the fibroid! i was so excited that a) it came out on it's own, B) that meant i didn't need to have surgery .. so i've been waiting for this months period to see if it's lighter because the polyp is gone and I just had a huge amount of liquid fill my tampon! i thought oh no, it's really heavy again, but it was just clear liquid. I'd only had the tampon in for a very short period of time, so I don't think it was anything to do with leaving it in etc...

This has happened to me too, during my last several periods. Today, only about an hour after changing tampons, my underwear and pants were soaked with a clear liquid. I don't notice an odor, it is like water. I'm almost 50 and thought it might be something pre-menopausal, but I see a lot of younger women have posted the same thing. Has anyone ever managed to get the fluid examined?

This has happened to me most months for the past few years. When this started happening to me my period changed as well. It went from being irregular (some months I just wouldn't get it) without many pms-like symptoms and lasting about a week. When this started I began having breast pain, cramping, bloating, headaches, leg/back pain, pms/pregnancy type symptoms, left side ovarian pain, 32-34 day cycles, and 4 day periods. Two heavy days and two light days.
I get my period, it starts off heavy with bad cramps and clotting/tissue. I always have left side soreness/pain and radiating leg pain. About two days into my period I get a gush of clear fluid that fills a tampon. Once this occurs all my cramping, clotting, pain disappears along with my tiredness/moodiness/bloating and my flow significantly decreases and is gone by the end of the next day.
I have some left side pain during ovulation and during intercourse sometimes as well and I get cysts so I thought maybe it as something like a cyst draining. I have had cysts rupture in the past and know how painful it is I just think its something along those lines to a lesser degree considering after it happens the cramping ceases, left side pain subsides, bloating disappears and the flow decreases.
Also last year my period was a little off for a few months and when it would come I didn't have my typical pms/period symtoms, no breast pain, no cramps, basically painless periods with no clotting/tissue passing and pretty light/regular blood flow and the water gush never happened on these months. During this time 15 pounds just fell off and when my period went back to it's old ways I gained weight back fairly quickly and can't get it off! Which leads my to believe its some kinds of cyst/growth/hormone issue/something that is causing the bad periods/pain and relief comes once its bursts or stabilizes or whatever. I really have no idea though just my experience!
