After 2 hard weeks of prayer, I am on a juicing program to detox my body and clean my mind up, hopefully for good. Three years ago, I had a horrible family tragedy, and I turned to alcohol for comfort. I drank pretty much every night, except for a week here or there. Last year, I became concerned about possible liver damage so I went to see a specialist. My lab and scans came out normal, so I went back to the bottle. Awful. The demon started up again. Now, finally, I am so disgusted with my weakness that I want to be stronger and healthier than ever. I have 2 young precious sons that I need to be my best for.
Anyway, I started my juicing 4 days ago and am taking a milk thistle "liver cleansing" supplement. I'm just wondering if anyone has any personal insight into how long liver cleansing takes, what are the signs, when will the bloat go away...all that good stuff.

Hi and God bless you for wanting to be OK and Love yourself again. I just went through a painful loss of a family member from cancer and another is fighting it now. I turned to Vicodin. Its been Hell and I can tell you, just be careful while trying to numb yourself. Ok so, alcohol is nasty because I think it is so Available. That was always my excuse that drugs are harder to get. Not so much! Now, I do know a thing or two about Detoxing the liver. Milk thistle is the best for the Liver hands down. Also, do some research into nano-Co Q10/Solgar makes it in a platinum edition. It is an antioxidant and great for you. Take it in the morning because it gives you energy. Carrot juice and celery seed are good too. Now if your Liver is healthy and I think it is, just stay off the alcohol. stay away from cold medicines and that kind of thing. THere is a book called 'Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing' I think you will find it everywhere. You will love it.
