Asthma runs in my family, on both sides, and I have had quite a few problems with my lungs over the years so I tend to be careful. I have has a nasty cough for a few weeks now, but I didn't think it could actually be anything serious... Until my boss told me that it sounded like I have pneumonia this morning! Yes, a dry and persistent cough that lasts for more than a week could be a warning sign for pneumonia. Let me warn you that pneumonia is a very serious disease with a large potential for complications and that it is not something that you should play around with. Please do see a doctor as soon as you can. Go to the ER if you have no other choice.
