I am 36 y.o. My period has always been like clockwork. I recently lost about 15 pounds in the last 3 months and began to exercise about 3-4 times a week. Since that time my cycles have been a little longer than normal. My husband had a vasectomy almost 2 years ago. My most recent period is about 2 weeks late. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both are negative. My grandmother was very ill and passed away this month also. I do not have any symptoms of pregnancy. Could stress and the light exercise I've been doing be a contributing factor in my missed period? Is this perimenopause? Should I see a doctor? (I feel perfectly fine).

I think you have a few things going on! 1. You ARE heading into Perimenopause 2. You have had a loss and thus stress 3. you have lost weight and started exercising more!

Our bodies don't really need to menstruate - BUT having a regular period shows that everything is fine! - when the body is being attacked by either hormones, stress, weight loss etc. The 1st thing it shuts down on is the period - as they stop really what they don't need! Since you feel just fine, then just keep on going, you are just heading into the "change!" Isn't it great?!!!! ;-) 8-| XD XD Notice this common thread - MENstruation, MENopause, MENtal Illness, ;-) So good for you for being healthy and just know that this will keep on happening for about 15 years!!!!!! LOL
