I am 22 years old and I have had UTI's for almost 7 years now. I have been to doctors, emergency rooms and specialists several times. I have been on every antibiotic imaginable, and nothting helps the pain. When I go into the doctors for a urine test, most of the time the test comes out negative for a UTI. I am coming to the point where I am giving up, and I dont know what to do anymore. I have doctors tell me they cant help me. This is affecting every part of my life, and I dont know what to do anymore. I have symptoms at least once a week. This has been happening, like I said, for almost 7 years. Please help me.

Hi Maddie

There are actually many alternative treatments available for chronic urinary tract infections.

The general aim of the treatment is to alter the pH of your urine to one which bacteria find unpleasant, and to improve the health of your bladder lining, as by now the bacteria are well established there.

A naturopathic physician (if you're in the USA), or a naturopath (if you're in the UK or Australia or NZ) can help you with treatment. He or she will assess your bladder health, assess your urine pH, and assess your diet for sugar intake. They will also assess your bowel flora status; which, weirdly, affects your bladder health.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you go!

Regards, Olwen :-)
