I was just told that I have eye disorder therapy and the doctor wants to prescribe topical corticosteroids. The thought of this is rather frightening to me! I don't want steroids! Can you please shed some light on the dangers of using corticosteroids? And is there any alternative to this form of treatment?

I don't know what makes you afraid of corticosteroids, as they have been used safely and very effectively for more than 50 years now. In fact, I am not sure if there is any other treatment of eye disorder therapy that works. While every medication has some potential side effects and therefore, I guess, dangers, I am convinced that leaving your eye disorder therapy untreated is much more dangerous. Your doctors know what they are doing!
