Wow - good luck and I hope it is not serious. UPDATE - I found out (by diagnosing myself, with help from blogs on the internet) I don't have burning mouth syndrome. What I have is a lingual nerve injury - back December, a dentist hit the nerve when injecting me with novocaine for simple fillings. Since then I have been all over town trying to figure out why I am in so much pain, and have been prescribed numerous medications.
My throat no longer hurts, and my ear gets better week by week, but I still have pain in my teeth (especially where the root canals went in months ago), and all along the left side of my face, the temple, the cheek, and burning tongue pretty much 24x7.
