my dad is 65 and he is an acholoic who refuses to get any help or any med treatment..occasionally he wakes up with unexplained bruises..but the worst one is he took a nap and woke up with a huge lump on the right side of his temple he did not fall did not hit himself, i but ice on it but did not do much the eye is a little swollen down..the bump is not bruised constist with a hit..lately he has been feeling very tired sleeps more then he is up..every other wk he is feeling ill vomiting lost of appeite..i hopelessly trying to figure out what is wrong with him since he refuses to go to hosp...im really hoping someone can help me

Unfortunatly, what is wrong is that he is an alcoholic and he can only help himself. I would imagine he is telling you that he didn't fall when he probs did and just can't remember. Loss of appetite is also part of alcoholism. If you drink you feel full and therefore don't need to eat as often. You need to tell him how worried you are about him and explain that you can't keep looking after him, when he's the one destroying his body on purpose. Xx
