Here is my story. Hope someone can help. For the past 4 yrs I have suffered just about every symptom but constipation with this disease. To the point that I was going to make out a living will because I was sure I had Alzheimers. All along my potassium was very low and my calcium high. Finally two yrs ago a doctor ordered a PTH blood test. Mind you I have had a goiter for 20 yrs and nodules off and on. I also have Hashimoto. For that I take 50 mcg synchro I'd everyday. Now it seems my liver is terrible effected and they have ran ever heart and lung test on me. This month alone $30,000. In medical bills. Thank God for insurance. My PTH blood results the last two times were 355 and 345 with calcium above 10.2. Three months ago the endocrinologist said yes you have Primary HyperParaThyroidism so take 1000 MG of vitamin D once a day and see you in Aug to redue blood results. I mean seriously?!?!?! Should I be a good patient and just follow directions or do I most definitely need surgery? I have been through so much already I don't want a crazy surgeon going in and not taking good care of business. Who is the best in NC?
