There is no identifiable cause to heart dysfunction, weekend heart. Dilated cardiomyophaty (periparatum cardiomyophaty in your case) may occur in pregnancy or sometimes after delivery. It is most common after age 30.Risk factors include personal history of cardiac disorders, use of medications, smoking, alcoholism and other. I don’t know what the results of ECG that you have done are, but a heart biopsy may be helpful to determine cause. Many cases of dilated catdiomyophaty in pregnancy seem to be related to myocaditis, confirmed by heart biopsy.
