I had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago after an unexpected trip to the ER. I thought I had developed a stomach ulcer after months of indigestion, bloating, gas and lots of antacids. I had asked the attending Dr. if they could test me for H-Pylori. Fortunately for me, she did an ultrasound, which revealed a large stone blocking the neck of my gallbladder, and inflammation. My Dr. said people get along perfectly fine without their gallbladder, and that I had no restrictions on diet or activities. I'm home 1 day after surgery, and have only a little pain. It's too soon to know if there will be other problems, but so far so good.

My mom had hers removed years ago when I was 2. It left a huge scar and was a painful surgery. she was 34. A day before my 17th birthday my 74 yearold grandmother had her gallbladder removed by laser by the following day she was begging to be let out so she could cook me a b-day dinner, in hardly no pain. We don't really need gallbladers their a lot like wisdom teeth.
