Have you ever used Splenda for baking? I made some chocolate chip cookies last night with Splenda and they tasted more like the "soft" chocolate chip cookies rather than the "hard" ones I like. (get your mind out of the gutter!!!!)

I'm not impressed...not to mention that c**p is EXPENSIVE!!!!

did you use the regular Splenda?

i think they have a version that is more suited for baking. like 50/50 splenda/sugar.

Never used it for baking, but I've seen the baking variety that MastrBrewr mentioned at the store.

I just use Splenda in coffee. :)

Alia uses splenda for coffee and some sort of no carb treat she makes, but I think she has used the baking kind too with good results.

Me...I'm a sugar junkie 8)

I use it for coffee, too and I like it. But, using it for baking (yes, I use the one for baking) doesn't taste quite right. :|

DH uses spenlda in his coffee. I use sugar when baking though. My cookies are all eaten soft cuz I eat most of 'em before they cool. :|

It's so friggin expensive!! I stopped buying it because I used so much in my coffee (I am a coffee addict) and had to buy it so often. $12 a month in sugar --I just cannot get my head around it.

So now I'm back to white sugar. Which is bad for me, so I'm really trying to wean myself, and someday will be drinking black coffee. Someday.

(But I don't mind the taste of Splenda, and I used it only when baking that yummy chocolate cake out of the South Beach Diet cookbook).
