My younger brother has been diagnosed with psoriasis three months ago, and since most of his psoriasis patches are on his elbows and arms they’re in his reach for him to pick the flaking skin. He’s only 11 and it’s hard to stop him from picking the patches, despite we do our best to make sure he doesn’t.

What worries me though is that the more he picks up the patch, it seems to get worse, like more flaky and red, and moisturizer seems to be less effective in helping it to come down. That’s why I’m wondering is it possible that irritation from him picking the patches causes them to flare-up and eventually spread?
