I am 22 years old and have, within the past year, progressively gotten worse nausea... Especially at night. It occurs sporadically, every so often--and I'm noticing it's worsened/more frequent when I am very stressed. I wake up right around 3-4am, often from restless sleep, feeling extremely nauseated, with burping/gas, and within an hour or so I end up throwing up stomach bile. My stomach is normally empty, having digested everything from dinner... So I'm sure it's not food related. I've also noticed that eating a small amount of carbs+salt (i.e.: crackers, French fries, chips) helps abate symptoms sometimes. I went to the doctor and she ran a few tests. She prescribed me an antiacid, which helps (sometimes) if I take it regularly. I took Omeprazole one night when I woke up at 4am feeling very, very sour. In about 10 minutes it made my stomach feel cool inside and calmer ..I fell asleep much happier. However, with recent episodes antiacids haven't been so effective. I'm trying everything I can think of: the antiacid, Nausene, Ginger gum, cold compress on my neck.... They all help for a short time, sometimes, but not enough. Im even experiencing nausea during the day now--sometimes the entire day. Fortunately, I have an endoscopy scheduled with my physician so we can get down to the bottom of what's going on. Once my results come back I will come up here on this thread and update everyone.
