Hello,

I’ve been suffering from overactive bladder for several months now and I feel like things are only getting worse because now I almost always have pain together with feeling of fullness in my bladder. I still haven’t managed to get to the urologist due to insurance problems which are hopefully going to be resolved soon.

But, from what I’ve read online, most people with overactive bladder and bladder spasms are using either Enablex or Detrol, and like I said, I don’t know what will I hear when I get to the urologist, but I was wondering which one of these, Enablex or Detrol, is more effective for bladder spasms?

Hello,

when I was first diagnosed with overactive bladder I was put on Detrol, which did help somewhat in controlling the urgency to go to the bathroom, but it also came with a lot of unwanted side effects. After I went back to my urologist, he added Vesicare and lowered my Detrol dose which worked better and it more than halved the number of trips I had to take to bathroom.

Lucky or not, my old urologist retired and the new one I got suggested I start taking only Enablex for a while - it had completely the same effects in controlling my overactive bladder as the two previous medications together and I'm still on only Enablex.
