I am planning abdominalplasty. I would like to know if there are exercises needed after? Thank you!

It is not actually needed, but is warmly recommended and it also depends on recovery time of every individual.
For the first week you’ll be on strong pain medicine (mild narcotic), and doing nothing, staying at home, not being able to drive a car etc. 9becouse of narcotics). The second week after abdominoplasty, you can start with light exercise, such as walking, treadmill, stationary bike. Do not do impact exercises like running or aerobics! Then weights or exercise machines can be added. Three weeks after surgery, running and aerobics can be done.
I hope this helps.

I am onto my second week and just walking around...by the third week i can hardly imagine running as the surgeon said you do not return to normal exercise until the six weeks...i am still slightly bent over and am yet to stand fully upright so i think lifting weights by the third week is not sensible as i lift very heavy weights as a living and think it would slow recovery dramatically..basic walking is a sensible thing to resume, yet running....not to sure about that one...i will follow my surgeons advice as he is a proffessional and knows what he is talking about...i also have outlayed alot of money for this and will not be ruining his work...

I am five days post tummy tuck and am still hunched over when I walk. Even rolling over in bed is still quite painful. My doctor also advised against excercise other than walking as tolerated for 4-6 weeks. I can not imagine running or lifting weights would be safe until this recommended recovery period is completed.
