Hello! I am 30 and am planning on staying pregnant but it is been for more than 6 months now I am not managing to conceive and I am afraid if this could be for the fallopian tube cyst I had about 4 years ago and the cyst was removed without removing my fallopian tube but maybe it has been damaged somehow during the surgery. Anyway I would like to hear if this fallopian tube cyst could cause me infertility. Thanks much!

No I don't think so usually when it is about fallopian tube cyst than along with the cyst fallopian tube is removed but it seems like your cyst haven't been of that big size and haven't cause your ovary to twist and obviously haven't damaged your fallopian tube. Anyway it could have happened that your fallopian tube was damaged somehow or this cyst pressured it so strong that it stays out of function but still with only one fallopian tube left you have good chances on staying pregnant for basically just one fallopian tube is usually enough for the eggs to travel down through the fallopian tube where the sperm would fertilize it. It is more likely you just need some more time to get pregnant and if nothing happened within a year than you may have some further check ups.

Hi! Those tiny tubes can be damaged so easily. I also had a cyst removed from my fallopian tube, however, I had a surgeon that specialized in tubal surgery to perform instead of my regular OB/GYN. It took a little extra work, but my tube was repaired and functioning as it did before.

I had that surgery 2 years ago at age 40 and now I am 8 months pregnant. Good luck to you!

It really depends on a lot of factors.

I had large cysts inside of both fallopian tubes, which, by the time they were diagnosed, were causing torsion (aka twisting of the fallopian tubes, and loss of proper blood flow to the ovaries) due to their size and weight. The solution was (obviously) to remove the cysts, as they were not bursting on their own.

Fallopian tubes are quite susceptible to damage. If you had surgical removal of cysts (especially from INSIDE your fallopian tubes, rather than on the outside suface) you may have scar tissue, causing your problem.
You may also have suffered trauma from torsion that occurred.

I would get an ultrasound. Normally your fallopian tubes should be fairly translucent, to nearly invisible on an ultrasound. If your doctor can see them, it may be indicitve of damage. With those results, you may be more able to find the cause of your troubles.

I hope that I have been of help.

i have been told that there is no way that i could ever bare a child as my tubes were twisted swollen and had cysts in them both. i have managed to get pregnant twice but misscarried both times at 7 weeks. my friend had the same problem for over 10 years and she gave up completely she now has a lovely little girl and another one on the way, this has help me alot knowing that she was in exactly the same place as me. if its going to happen it will happen, but the more you stress over it, the less likely it will, i know it is hard but the more stress you put yourself under the harder your body will have to work. good luck to everyone who is trying i am in exactly the same place and  i know how hopeless you may feel, but just remember there is alot of help out there,or other routes to take.

Hi my name is Isabel (24yrs) and about 2years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy on my right fallopian tube I was 14 weeks pregnant and dint know do to irregular period's, so I ended up on the ER and had my tube remove. Then six month later (2010) went back to the ER do to a chronic abdominal pain, so the DR requested an ultrasound and notice a cyst on the left ovary DR told me that usually they dissolve by them self's and to follow up with my OBG. Within a day I schedule an appoiment with my OBG and told her what the DR from the ER had told me. and only did a pap mire and say that everything was normal and did nothing about the cyst. this year I’m going to be four year married and have no success getting pregnant. I ended up in the ER 2 days ago due to the same abdominal pain, had another ultrasound done. ones again  and ended up that the cyst is still there and it had grown bigger I'm really concerned that Aim not going to be able to get pregnant now that I only have one ovary <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Do you know if your cysts had their own blood supply?

What kind did you have, how were they removed?

I've recently been told I have a cyst inside my fallopian tube. That it has it's own blood supply so my DR. seemed concerned. I've been referred to gyno but my appt isn't for a few weeks. I'm freaking out thinking worst case scenario. I'm in so much pain and now I'm scared.
