You will do fine December. Just stop reading these horror stories and get your mind off it. Its not "months and months" as others say. I mean, why would folks that had virtually no problem (most of us) come on these sites to complain? I assure you , you will be fine coming off of 2mg.

Oz, you will be fine dropping from 2mg. First thing to ask "Why am I stopping, is there a powerful reason that I need to have my receptors unoccupied and risk the chance of relapse into Hell?" If its an "affirmative" and you MUST get off the medicine (i.e. jail, money, Dr Issues, or your just ready and in a "good place" to not risk relapse) getting your dose down to 2mg is fine. Once your down to 2mg, without any withdrawl, skip days (one day, every 5 days). I HIGHLY recommend that one also see if they can get Clinidine patches. Depending on weight, 0.1 - 0.2mg patch applied for 7-days will help allot, but make you a bit fatigued. The Clonidine will work against some of adrenergice reactions (chills, leg twitches, heat waves, mild fever, anxiety). Another FANTASTIC drug is something named ODANSETRON. (ZOFRAN). Its an antiemetic, but works on receptors in a way to virtually make any malaise non-existant. My experience was 2 years of 8mg suboxone, tapered to 4mg (no syptoms from the drop). Once I was at 2mg, I took the jump. When you jump, I recommend you get rid of the remainder of the subs. Since we took suboxone to "not get sick" its only normal to continue to take it... Thats not abnormal, and doesnt make you an addict, like I hear so often on these boards. ITS NORMAL TO WANT TO FEEL NORMAL... so get rid of them when the decision is made. So, in summary, try to get clonmidine patches and Zofran (8mg BID) if you MUST. It works, but you can jump off of 2mg even if you cant. The folks that insist they cut down to 0.5mg, 0.025mg, etc are being OCD, due to the previously mentioned human behavior of "fear of being sick". You can do this! Also, Any malaise that you do feel; from coming off the buprenorphine will subside in 10 days. Another thing is to STAY BUSY!! All your going to do (if yiou are like me) is drive yourself insane. I cant tell you all of the dorks I see that obsess and document every "feeling" they think is due to discontinuation. When you are sucessfull, DONT FORGET THE REASON WE STARTED ON THE BUPRENORPHINE! Our minda are different than "normal" people. Stay away from old "freinds", doctors, pharmacies, street corners, wherever you scored your drug of choice. Dont become a member of the 80% that relapse into opiate addiction - Prove them all wrong! Good luck!!

BS..Your living indenial and going by misery loves company..Nothing works for suboxone/subutex withdrawals..I tried every method and had withdrwals for 6 months each time until I relapsed on methadone... Sub withdrawals are too long and depression is bad which lasts for 4-10 years, this is why nobody ever makes it off subs..How can a 7 month taper combat 2-4 years of PAWS? dude your barking up the wrong tree and pretending to be off subs when you aint, your trying to tell yourself it will be ok but it wont..Or else you would not have come here on this site..

whoever runs that detox in flordia should loose their liscience. i was an addict to everything i could get started after heart surgey was given tramadol then percocet then morphine then suboxone. long story short went to school now im a substance abuse counslor. so take my advice there are places out there that will make you belive that your stuck as an addict, your not. you did not become an addict overnight so your not going to get better overnight. its going to suck no matter how you do it but when all the wds are over your going to wake up and feel better then you ever did on drugs. the diffrence is you wont have to keep taking something to feel that way.

I was16 when I started taking any opiate I could get my hands on. I was not aware that after taking them for long periods of time I would need them. I started taking them for fun... ( they made me feel good). By the time I turned 17 I couldn't go a day without something. I felt so stuck. It got so expensive... I needed more and more. On top of that my husband was also in the same boat as I. When I was 22 I lost my job for failing a random drug screen. We have two kids together.. I needed that job. That was my lowest!! I did some research and found a doctor... me and my husband started suboxone 2years ago!! I started at 16mg... then finally got down to 4mg. I have been on this dose for about 7 moths. I'm currently going to school to become a dental assistant. Iife looks good!!! I resently ran into trouble trying to get my script. So I decided to quit 12 days ago!!! I jumped off of 4mg. The first week was he**!!! Then I had a friend give me tramadol... which has worked wonders!! I have taken 150mg for the past 6 days and plan on slowly cutting my dose... but what I wanna know is did I make the right decision? Did I relapse., by taking tamadol?? I want to be free of all of this!! Is tramadol hurting me? Or prolonging my withdrawl duration!! Help please!!!

In my experience as GF to Flexit4u on this forum, I've merely witness since March of 2008, the addiction suboxen has over an opiate addict (heroin)..  merely given card blanc to ween off 'without pain' and then only to go back on opiates.  Simply put just another opiate cycle...it is no longer now being used to keep off opiates to merely ween off of heroin gently in three day, it is also is being used to ween gently off a bender of opiates to perhaps meet a clean urine given by a POfficer.  It merely has been keeping an addict an addict in a gentler sense and also providing 'extra' income to buy extra percs, vics or even heroin by 'selling' a suboxen 'strip' for top dollar to antoher fellow opiate head...a vicious BS cycle of an optiate head...its your life, do what y'all want...but y'all can't fool this gal...seen too much, learned too much...that I now want to forget.

I don't want to be a GF to this BS...

I can't tell you how much I hate to tell you this, but tramadol is very addictive IF you take it every day over a month or so. Please be careful with it.
