I have had a rapid decline in my health and quality if life over the past 3.5 months because of a whole bunch of symptoms.

It all started almost 4 months ago after a party involving ice cream cake and a milkshake. I suddenly got EXTREME upper middle stabbing pain which dissipated after taking a gas-x. Since then, I have had major changes in my bowel habits and stomach function.

I have had pain and difficulty while having a bowel movement (as well as extreme pain for 10 minutes after), and small amounts of red blood every time, I am also having an average of 2 bowel movements a day when it used to be one every 2 days. Occasionally I have seen more blood than this, which has scared me.

I have stomach pain almost all day, every day, with no recognizable pattern. It is usually a gnawing, aching pain in the upper abdomen, but surrounding meals it is usually intermittent stabbing pains which are non-localized.

I have been on a strict elimination diet for 1 month with no improvement. I am getting very frustrated and scared because the doctors don't seem to be treating this seriously.

I had a rectal exam and only 1 small and normal hemmeroid was found (not enough to cause symptoms). They have referred me to a GI specialist, but the appointment won't be for 3-4 months. The dietician is telling me I have ibs, but no matter what I eat I have symptoms, with no relief even with the plainest of foods.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on? I am getting desperate.

Did they do blood work? Could possibly be pancreatitis. Look into pancreas issues or gastric ulcers.

On second thought, if u have insurance go to the ER the next time u feel increased pain. They will do labs and a possible ct scan. U can also over exaggerate the pain to get their attention. Drs just don't listen to patients.
