Hi,
I'm a 15 year old girl of "African American" decent. For the past 2 years I have been experiencing some symptoms that have profoundly changed my lifestyle. I have pain in the abdominal area after eating, mostly at night or in the afternoon. I belch excessively after eating ice or drinking anything cold. Gum and soda are two things I've learned to live without (cause bloating and pain).
Occasionally, the pain is sharp, like a stabbing sensation. Usually, it's a dull, but painful sensation originating in the lower abdominal section, but not confined to it. At times it manifests itself in the upper section, the sides and pelvic region. I have to eat constantly, which would account for weight gain, in order to supress the symptoms.
in the past year, I've been treated for H. Pylori, though they don't know for sure if I ever had it. I completed 2 weeks on the Prev Pac but continuing symptoms indicated that there is another cause.
I was treated for GERD with 2 months of nexium. The pain went down significantly... when compared to previous complaints BUT I still experience severe bloating and distention (about 2X actual size) that takes hours to go down and the problem again with belching after cold rinks and foods.
I also did 2 months of Ranitadine, 150mg, twice daily but it didn't seem to work.
I just recently did an endoscopy which revelaved nothing abnormal but an area with "bumps" which the doctor attributed to the H. Pylori outbreak. No ulcers or cysts or such things.
A few more possibly unrelated symptoms and signs1. a lump in the groin region (best described as a lymphoma... culdn't think of anything more suitable... pea sied but came and went in about a week)
2. Sharp "stabbing" pains in the chest area
3. Similar pains in head, usually at the back or sides
4. Joint pains
5. Vaginal discharge (clear)
6. "burning sensation" during urination (on and off)
7. Cold feet (poor circulation in extremities on father's side)
8. Poor vision (runs in the family (myopia) but worst in the family)
School work is not adversly affected... just a drop due to what i feel is complecency... average teen stuff =D
Family history
Glaucoma on mother's side (Grandmother)
Diabetes (Grandmmother)
Sickle Cell (trait expressed only in an aunt on father's side)
Hypertension (father)
Hypotention (mother)
Stress may play a factor-- 4 college level classes+poor attention span+teenager=bad idea =D
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me to find out what's wrong!
(Thanks in advance)
