Hello,
Gillian-Barre syndrome is a disorder which main characteristic is attack of the immune system on the nerves. This condition progresses quickly, and when it does, it can cause total body paralysis.
Sometimes it can pass just three weeks after the first sign of symptoms for paralysis to occur. Unfortunately there is no cure for this syndrome but if caught and treated early, Gillian-Barre can be somewhat controlled.
The first symptoms of this condition is numbing in the fingers and toes and sometimes people think that this is nothing and they don’t pay attention to the first symptoms of Gillian-Barre syndrome.
But as I have already mentioned this condition progress is really fast so sometimes after just few hours you can discover that you can’t walk. I hope this was helpful.
