I am 40 and have recently started having the same thing everyone is describing. I have been screened for all manner of std's all clean. I am sexually active. These do seem to coincide with the same time in my monthly cycle. I too have felt the pain of having the gyno try to "cut" one of these hard cores out without so much as one numbing shot. NEVER AGAIN!! Same as everyone else, gyno cannot tell me what it is, other than potential calcium buildup....sigh....thanks ladies. I'm sorry for us all for having to deal with this BS!!

I have the same bump, and I have not been able to find one thing to help. It is a 2 or 3 on the pain scale and my left labia minora is a bit bigger than the right. But recently I squeezed it, being frustrated from getting it, and it became red and hurtful, especially after peeing. I would love to know what it is also because it is very frustrating.

Yeah I learned the hard way not to try squeezing it. Mine is also on the left side inner labia but the upper part so I know it's not a bartholin's gland cyst. I wonder if anyone else who has this also happens to shave with a standard razor? I've switched to an electric foil shaver to reduce shaving irritation but I'm wondering if this is something that could've been caused by shaving.

Hi ladies... I'm 37, sexually active with the same partner for the last 12 years. I have a bump on my right labia. It doesn't really hurt. It just feels uncomfortable when I wipe it. About two days ago, when I went to tinkle, I noticed tiny spots of blood on the toilet paper. I was under the impression that whatever it is, popped. It's still bleeding lightly. I decided to take a mirror and look at it. It's a round bump and it looks like the head of it is red, bleeding from the time it popped. A bump like this appears randomly about every other month around the time of my period. It lasts about a week and then it goes away. It seems to suddenly appear out of nowhere. Does anyone know what this is called?

Today I had a CALCIFIED CYST removed from my labia minora by a dermatologist on the exam table during a routine skin exam. Within minutes it was gone. He numbed the area with a needle, cut it out and closed it with one stitch. I will return in one week to remove the stitch. It was the size of a large pin head and opaque white when removed. He showed it to me. It bothered me everyday for one year bc I tried to squeeze it all the time and nothing came out! I saw a gynocologist yesterday who dismissed me by saying it would leave too big of a scar if removed, she said it was a SEBACEOUS CYST but she was wrong. It was not a sebaceous cyst, it was a calcified cyst and no amount of hot compress or sitz bath would bring it to surface so I could pop it. That was the wrong information the gynecologist on Washington Avene in Hoboken, NJ gave me. the dermatologist was Robert Lee in Englewood, NJ. I had it for one year! It felt hard and did not move around, it did not appear white it was hard to see with the eye. it would never pop or ooze liquid when squeezed. I am so happy I just happened to tell the dermatologist about it today. he said no problem I'll remove it. I will not have a scar! That gyno was wrong.

I have the same issue asall you others on here. I am 19 weekspregnant and have never had any issues down there ever. I haven't been sexually active for about a month, and found this plump the day it appeared about 4 days ago. I'm glad to know it's somewhat normal although it's hard to not getnervous. I don't have a bath tub at home to use and am not sure what creams I can use while being pregnant. My Dr is out of town for a week and a half so I'm looking for ways to get rid of it diy. I walk and stand a lot for work and it's very irritating and painful after a long day :/

I have had my cyst in the upper labia minora for 8 years, the gynaecologist was checking my cervix today after my lletz procedure 6 weeks ago (removal of abnormal precancerous cells on my cervix) she saw the cyst said it was very large and tried to drain it, but it wouldn't drain because it was a solid lump. She cut it out and stitched me up and is sending it to histology but said it should be benign. There is nothing on the internet at all like what I've been going through for the last 8 years but I'm glad it's gone and I hope no one else has to endure it for 8 years straight! It never got smaller just bigger and bigger, sometimes it would get swollen, the skin would tear and then it would bleed a little though.

I've looked up some information and it might be a Bartholin Cyst. Google it ladies and see if the description pertains to ANY of you. Tight clothing (panties), heat, and sitting can cause them. Good luck!

If it's the same thing I have I'm confused if it means you're ovulating because mine never go away

Hi, I have the same problem you're describing but mine is at the right side. How did yours got away? And what else did you do?

Hey there! This has happened to me as well and with a little research I think what we are all talking about is a bartholin gland cyst. It happens when the bartholin glad becomes swollen and filled.
Here's the article I found and there are many others as well if you search the condition.

What you guys have been describing is almost exactly like what I have. The only difference is that mine doesn't bother me. It only hurts if I squeeze it but not when I touch or rub it or when I sit. It's on the outer side of my right labia minora and just looks like a small bump. I don't think it's a Skene's cyst because of the location. I've had a bertholin cyst before and this is not it. I'm not too worried since I haven't had any problems but it's very annoying and I would like to know what it could be. I'm a virgin but I'm not sure if not being sexually active has anything to do with it. I know it's not a substitute for a doctor's diagnosis but if anyone has an idea of what it could possibly be, please let me know.

These could be something called hidradentitis supportiva or HS. There is not s lot of solid factual information out there about HS and trust me when I say modern medicine doesn't know how UK deal with this disease if the skin. Basically your body is responding to some type of trigger (usually food related) by causing an inflammatory response. The result is hard painful bump(s) that resemble a skin infection. If you can stand the pain and get it to pop and drain you'll see its full of pus and blood. Antibiotics don't help this issue as there is no infection there (unless it's broken open and subsequently gotten infected). Best advice I can give: look up the book called the hidden plague and/or check out the authors free blog site. You can also try vinegar baths (add 1 cup white vinegar to tub of warm water - add more vinegar if you have a giant tub - soak affected area for 30+ minutes swishing water around the area every so often. Pat dry after getting out of tub.) the vinegar helps dry things up and kills germs, the warm water helps soothe the pain. You can also apply detmoplast or kana and spray (the ones with the blue tops) to the area - it's the stuff they send home with new moms to spray down there to help with pain, irritation and itchiness from episiotomy stitches so you know it's ok to use in that area. Good luck!

Sorry about the typos-darn auto correct!!
Not 'U.K.' - should be 'to'
Not 'detmoplast or kana and spray' - should be 'dermoplast or lanacane spray'
