Long story short I've had back issues my whole adult life. And am no stranger to the pain that comes with it. And managed it for years without any painkillers. Sports, 3 car accidents, 3 pregnancies. Spinal narrowing bulging discs arthritis and cysts. Nothing new to me about going to p.t. and traction to get relief from everything along with living off of liquid gel Advil all through my twenties until I started developing bad stomach issues back in March and after an endoscopy they found out it was the Advil I've been taken 4 my back that caused erosion in my stomach and my small intestine. Add way too many steroids shots in my arm from sinus infections and allergies and I have gotten to the point that I'm now doing steroid injections in my back instead of taking the oral steroid pills ...they seem to help some butt have yeasty side effects :( I know I'll never be pain free I just want to get back to the pain level I was before I was rear-ended in a car accident this past August. I can no longer tell what is withdrawal and what is my actual pain level I think I might be getting used to the 30 milligrams a day he has me on....I do not abuse them ever if anything if i can get by without needing a pill i skip it...but it seems my doctor doesn't want me to stop them/hasn't aproached me about the "Exit Plan" to all of this until I'm done healing and done with my injections....also My worry is the longer I'm on it the harder it's going to be on my ibs when I do go to get off I don't want to have diarrhea for months or feel anxious and I can't afford to not get sleep because I'm a stay home mom with 3 kids one of which is still home with me all day. my doctor is the kind of doctor that seems concerned about my well-being and the fact that he refills my prescription only after we fully discuss my improvements and what I'm still having issues with makes me feel like he cares but I'm also going to a Pain Management Facility and I don't know what the protocols are 4 weaning people off a 30 mg a day dose after 3+ months.... I don't know if I've been on a high enough dose that he would even let me wean off on my own or if he would just supplement me with a non-narcotic like the Tramadol I have a problem with or cut me cold turkey and I'm too hesitant to ask b/c I know like he said I will need them for the rest of the shots for sure ....but not in between so much iam happy to say...but it seems the only reason I'm stuck taking this stuff in between the injection pain issues and the rest of the back pain I know I'm still going to have is that I feel like utter c**p once I get down to lower than 20 milligrams a day I have to start taking it normal again to get the onset  of withdrawals to go away.. I space my 10mg doses out by hours. . Sometimes I need every 8 like after the injection sometimes I can do one every 12 hours but it seems like when I get down to one every 16 to every 24 hours 4 2 days on the third day I start getting really sick.... so I usually have to take 15 milligrams at once to get it to stop and then start my two pills a day again... I just don't like suprises and I feel like this is a surprise because I expressed how I didn't want to be on this for a long. And he assured me it would be a manageable task but I don't feel that this is manageable if I've been on it this short of a Time and it's making me feel this sick. And tramadol didn't work for me and I can't take advil and the family doc almost killed me with Tylenol before the pain doc said he was more worried about my liver getting hurt from the Tylenol she had me on and that he was putting me on immediate release oxy 10 milligram tablets. Will he approached me with a weaning schedule when he sees time is fit. I mean I trust the process but like I said what is protocol do they wean you off this stuff at the end of your pain management or would they just say okay your pain is resolved you don't need it anymore glad we could help you have a nice day?
